What if our existence is an acid trip in God's mind?
ОтветитьLove Brian’s way of explaining his point of view. But he asks for evidence of God existing by the clouds parting and him coming down from the sky. I know he is a person who appreciates the cosmic scale of time. Isn’t it naive to think God would do that during our 80 years we have year? Does he have to do that every 50 years for people to believe in him? Or perhaps he came 2000 years ago and is THE most well documented storY in our history.
ОтветитьNice
ОтветитьIt's so beautiful to see a human being experiencing a mind-expansion process...
...the problem remains because religion is not a good thing anyway.
I mean, it can help with first thoughts and steps to know The Creator, but it becomes an "arrogant proselytes" factory too fast...
What if there wasn’t a “big bang” but a blackhole escape?
ОтветитьThis guy is not religious yet this is one of the best definition of religion I have ever heard (as a non religious guy)
ОтветитьI don’t find atheists to be closed minded, in fact they are more open minded, critical and aware of reality. Because most atheists are brought up in religious households and for them to be able to brake away they do need some level of mental autonomy. I wouldn’t consider religious people that are well enough educated to be scientists, open minded. On the surface they may look it however I find that they’re more close minded and dogmatic then the fundamentalist, because if science something that has been consistently contradicting your religious can’t open your eyes and you have to keep moving the goalposts and shoehorn in some sort of justification then that isn’t open mindedness.
ОтветитьSo science is not intelligently directed?
ОтветитьItz so sad people frm Judaism turning hare krishna.. 😢😢
ОтветитьWhen the clouds part and the Creator is revealed its gonna be too late folks.
ОтветитьI looked at the thumb nail and imagined they were on shrooms
ОтветитьLaws of the Universe exist Independent of anyone's personal beliefs in the existence of the Laws of the Universe. Just as man-made laws govern society globally, Universal Laws govern the entire Universe. Un-directed random material natural processes have never been observed in nature or experimentally demonstrated to be capable of producing any form of laws. As scientifically confirmed, non-material laws are the product of only Mind / Consciousness / Intelligence.
ОтветитьThis whole episode has to be one of the best. They disagree several times and yet are always polite and respectful of each other. Joe basically thinking that Earth is worth ET visiting and Brian disagreeing with that notion. Richard Dawkins grew up in the church of England and he still sings the hymns to himself sometimes because it is comforting. They are easy to remember and sing for a reason. I do the same.
ОтветитьHere’s my thing I think religion can fit into science once human centrism is removed if there was an all powerful creator god the being would create not create us my option is one day a domino so to speak was flicked and he’s just observing possibly the greatest scientist experiment ever conducted
ОтветитьMy son passed away little over 2 years ago. He was full term and healthy and his death was a freak accident, so suddenly. Me and my ex fiance had him blessed and had a ceremony for him. Niether of us are religious. And yet, there have been supernatural events i've noticed since his passing related to him, and while i still am not religious i do find myself talking to him every once in a while.
It isnt about believing he's there. Its about comforting yourself that he loves you and would be proud and happy to be with you
The elegant mind of the most elegant theoratical physicist ❤ just another beautiful Brian Greene thing !!
ОтветитьThe biggest scam known to man is the holy Bible lol
ОтветитьHe looks like Tom Scott in 20 years.
ОтветитьNo evidence exists that black holes are a thing. Even less that they eat galaxies.
ОтветитьX.
ОтветитьIt’s almost like the Universe saw this beautiful conversation in February of 2020 and thought that it needed a reversion to the mean- so “it” created chaos and COVID. Now we are all back to hating each other.
ОтветитьBy far one of my favorite Joe Rogan podcasts
ОтветитьAtheïsme is also a belief
ОтветитьIf Newton can believe and Greene can be open minded well ... Atheists need think on what league they are
ОтветитьWhen you have 4000ish religions claiming each knows the answers to, The Meaning of Life, The Rules of Life, and What's Going to Happen After Life, you will Never have a peaceful planet. That's just logic proven by Simple Mathematics.
Watch:
0 = no religion.
1 = a religion.
So, 0+1=1. So One religion. Everyone agrees.
However, now watch:
0 = no religion.
1 = a religion.
So, 1+1=2.
2 different religions now. Oops, disagreement. Therefore, no peace.
Simple Mathematics explains Religions are not equal.
Unless you are an Atheist and understands that all religions are all equally silly.
How is that possible that no intelligence was required? 😮
ОтветитьI just understood Maxwells equations and get the feeling I just came closer to God. Unfortunately during this lifetime I dont expect to understand the Universe in its entirety so want fully comprehend "God"..that journey would take forever and even if that goal was ultimately reached, the Universe would reveal something new and undiscovered.
ОтветитьEven as an atheist, you'd have to be a moron to not realise that relgion does have its reddeming traits. Its less about a sky wizzard and more about tribalism. I dont mind relgion for people who need it to feel whole in their communities. I think the problem (just like most people do) is that when people use it to justify horrendious acts based on an all knowing dictators pat in the back. No one ever said the 10 comandments weren't common sense, but thinking stories like ham actually justfies anything outside of a babaric goat herders racsim is ridiculous.
ОтветитьNOTE; Christianity is not a religion..it's a believe
ОтветитьFormer Christian, now an atheist. And to this day I will still say oh thank you Jesus or something similar LOL. I don't believe in Jesus, but it is almost like a habit or a superstition like knocking on wood
ОтветитьYou can respect the fact that Brian Greene will never talk about important topics to Joe or other people like he's talking to a 5-year-old. Neil Degrasse Tyson needs to take some notes from these types of people and talk as an equal to the other person during a conversation. The smartest people have the ability to make complicated concepts easy for the average person to grasp.
ОтветитьWe’re ALL talking about the same thing from different perspectives.
ОтветитьAll you need to understand is that everyone believes in something, even when they insist that they don’t, if you believe that evil isn’t an “opinion” then you’re inferring that goodness is a thing in the world, the world in a perceptual sense is a battle of good v evil and you’re the agent in the arena. Religion is far more sophisticated than people want to believe.
ОтветитьTao te Ching says…
‘When the intelligence of the Body declines,
Intelligence and cleverness step forward.’
I feel religion
Is a product of this
fact.
I’m not a religious person but it is hilarious to listen to scientists say they need to “see god part the clouds” to believe otherwise. Yet, they make predictions, with such arrogance, about things that happened 3 billion years ago.
ОтветитьImagine stumbling upon the most beautiful and intricate painting, so detailed that it even moves and changes, then saying nothing made it, pure foolishness
ОтветитьReligion is a beautiful thing to have in this world.
The real problem is that when people use their religion for a morality war, a righteous war, and a war for who is more pure. Also, when something forcible inflects it, people like Catholics with indoctrination schools and religion is ultimately a form of comfort . Some people believe that there is a God and an afterlife is comforting and others believe there isn't there's just science and that's fine
I wonder why Greene would want to be interviewed by the likes of Rogan. And, from Wikipedia, for those that think that Greene is kind to religion: "Greene has stated that he regards science as being incompatible with literalist interpretations of religion and that there is much in the New Atheism movement which resonates with him because he personally does not feel the need for religious explanation. "
Ответитьi am a little surprised he mentioned specifically that book on religion - it's old and seems super outdated, as well as poorly edited. There's a lot of contemporary books on science and religion.
ОтветитьEnergy frequency and vibration connection not a guy in the sky watching us
ОтветитьI would love to hear his explanation on the Shroud of Turin scientific data in the last 40 years.
ОтветитьNot having the ability to quantify spirituality is very far from proving a lack of intelligent design. The statement that there is no evidence of God is complete nonsense.
ОтветитьSilly. People don’t die horrible deaths in order to “Calm things down”, or keep things “Cohesive”. That’s intellectually vapid.
ОтветитьGod is knocking on Joe’s door. I wonder if he’ll ever answer.
ОтветитьThe God is us. Within us. That's why miracles happen everywhere in every religion. We'll create this universe in the distant future when we Transcend space and time. We're the PERFECT BOOTSTRAP PARADOX..
Ответить
