That's the ticket. I want a strat pretty bad. There is a piss pounded 2001 black stray with a MAPLE neck and fretboard available at the only music shop near me. It is thumped up, I love it. Scratches, gouges, Nick's and grime. My kind of guitar. My concern would be the frets and their level of wear. It has Knicks and gouges in the fretboard but nothing that interferes with playability. If I put a super distortion in the bridge it would RIP. They want just short of a thousand dollars for it! There is the issue. An American standard. Cool guitar, but they must be out there cheaper, I wish I could find a workhorse/ beater.
