Nice always like those Cobalt vids any new mines opening ? Looks like you scored a few nice pieces well done
ОтветитьI'm kind of surprised I don't read of Cobalt exploration in Ontario now with Cobalt metal prices being high. You are lucky your mines department has left you any mining heritage. Where I am you cannot even find a spoil pile and most sites are on private property. Anything else of interest is in conservation parks (very few) or in active exploration leases covering huge areas in prospective regions. It's great to see someone out having fun where they can.
ОтветитьNice. But what are the signs of the existence of pockets of precious stones or precious metals in solid volcanic rocks and smooth ... if you can in video because it is an important subject to search in places with huge volcanic rocks .. Please accept my respect and appreciation
ОтветитьI had no idea it was such a large site, there were some serious concrete structures there, so it wasn't a short term investment and would have been a large going concern, working seven days constantly while the weather was favourable.
What kind of man had to do that work, similar to a coal miner working for a wage that was a pittance in comparison to the owners profit, but it was a different era with different attitudes and the concept of hard work was not alien to the working class, clerk or miner if you were working class you worked.
Such a shame that people have forgotten about that, self reclassification to middle class when they have to work or go without is not a step up the social ladder it's denial that although your life is far, far better your ancestors worked, struggled and sacrificed for you to have what you own and for me the denial of your forbears is shameful, if my ancestors had worked in a silver mine swinging a pick and using a shovel I would have their photos on display and talk of them proudly.
That's enough of the serious stuff, that looked really fun, why didn't you take me ? you could have picked me up first and we could have gone together, split the spoils evenly with seventy percent to me and everything else to you and Daisy gets to swim as much as she wants.
Was that gully a natural fault of excavated, it looked to go on quite a way more after that tree.
Was the rock crushed and then processed for silver extraction? how small were the crushed rocks? It's my guess that smaller particles would be better to process, a constant flow of dusty particles over a furnace would make it easier than trying to melt rock, but as I know nothing of the process it's just guesswork.
Good video Greig, do some smelting.
Cool video and finds Greig, I thought you trained Daisy to dive for nuggets? Was waiting for her to come up with a big one swimming in that lake!
ОтветитьI heard on the radio this morning that many people are spending nearly 24hrs indoors now. That would not apply to you and Daisy.
ОтветитьI used to watch the red green show. We were possum lodge members.
But great video.
I just got a rockhound dream job. I work in a rock quarry. And they already showed me hugh quarts pockets. Guess im working longer hours now.
ОтветитьI live in Mississippi on the gulf coast. Ive been watching your videos for a while now. Been trying to find areas around me to rock hound. No luck so far. Just shells and sand lol. Any suggestions on how to research sites?
ОтветитьI hear that they are exploring again in the area for cobalt given the price of the metal.
What is the make and models of your metal detectors? I'm asking because I don't currently own one and think after watching this video that it might be fun to own one.
Thats pretty cool. Nice finds.
Ответитьfind it impressive bigtime how it was mined in cobalt ! tough fellers
ОтветитьHow do I contact you to talk/ask about rocks I brought back from The Andes, Argentina. I'm in Ontario.
ОтветитьGreat video ~ My Great grandfather and his brothers were silver miners in Cobalt back in the 30's and 40's ~ My grandmother grew up in Cobalt, and had a summer place there. i spent quite a few summers enjoying the black flies >3 , moose and wild bush lakes...Great grandfather was the 'first Bell Diver' in Cobalt...What a cool reminder of all of this when i saw your video... Please give a nod to this area next time you're in town ~ oh yes my family name was Nadeau ~ still alot of my' cousins' etc... living in the Cobalt area ~ Thank you so much for sharing your time with us your yt fans ~ Cheers and Best from Vancouver Island BC ~
ОтветитьMy hound and I were out today also, agates and a few crystals , no silver yet..
ОтветитьI like the nickeline! The silver is an extra!
ОтветитьWell, you can always go back again!!.(I think you will! Lol!) Hope u do another video so we'all will see the silver after cleaned ext!! Nice stuff!!
ОтветитьHello meMiner, the question that comes to mind is the following. Was the ore from these mines shipped out for processing or was it done on site, also a video on how to process the raw material to say pure silver would be interesting. I have only panned the creeks for gold in the Bancroft area, with marginal success. Your videos have renewed my interest. Richard.
ОтветитьWatching your videos with my little man (Ashton) and come across this video I must have missed part of. The adit in that cut, is it accessible, or does it go down at the entrance? Also, could you tell if it goes in far or not? Ive been wanting to walk up that stupid cut for 3 years now but was convinced there was no adit in there lol on another note, remember that weird black shiny stuff I found that I thought was maybe mica? Its from the top of that cut. Theres more around up there.
ОтветитьI was just thinking “Daisy looks like a beaver”. Then you said it. 🤓. Is she a Chocolate Lab?
