We eat very closely to a Weston A. Price “diet” and ancestral nutrition. We shop local farms, markets, raw dairy farms. The cookbook Nourishing Traditions has been instrumental.
I think it’s also important to research and choose what’s best for the individual. Everyone thrives in different ways. And it’s so important to be willing and open to change for the better of your family.
Our children’s needs >>>> activism
Another former vegan here!
I was vegan and in my second pregnancy my iron was insanely low. I tried EVERYTHING. My midwife asked if i would be okay with trying an animal product, and suggested dessicated beef liver. Girl. It made me feel SO INCREDIBLE, my body needed it so bad. No single diet/lifestyle food choice is right for every person! We all have to find what works best for us and especially our children since thet cannot do that themselves 💖
ОтветитьI’m glad you had a change of heart. There are so many nutrients in just liver alone. Whole foods includes animal products:. I’m exited to see some of your new meal ideas:)
ОтветитьLife changes , needs changes, we grow when we adapt to those needs. 👏🏻 Theres no perfect diet out there, we are all different plus we are constantly changing.
Ответить💯 these are all the same reasons we stopped being vegan 😊
ОтветитьThank you for sharing! I know it can be intimidating :) my family had a very similar journey except now I’m leaning into sugar and carbohydrates! My research has led me to a pro metabolic thought process and it makes so much sense! Love the freely rooted podcast :)
ОтветитьI have MFTR gene as well! I actually just found out, and it explains a lot. I was just able to find a couple great local farms nearby where I'm at where I can get meat and milk which has been great! Even been on a few farm tours well.
ОтветитьMy girls are allergic to dairy and eggs, but I look forward to the day they hopefully outgrow it 🤞🏻grass fed pastured animals foods are so nourishing to the body!
ОтветитьFuck yes. Finally people who realise our children's health means more then bad activism. Sorry but if you care about animals you support good farming practices. Not go herbivore
Ответитьi was vegan for 10 years and my kids raised as such. a few months ago, i started eating animal products bc my thyroid was not getting better. i looked into the blood type diet and realized it might be a good idea to try for my health. i feel soooo much better with steak and fish. im blood type O, and its a meat and veggie blood type. but wow organic, grass fed meat is INSANELY EXPENSIVE! we can't afford to eat it often as family of 4. its sad. i was so food restrictive for so many years, i realized i had developed "Orthorexia nervosa is a proposed eating disorder characterized by an excessive preoccupation with eating healthy food. " i think many people are suffering with orthorexia. for the first time in 10 years, i'm enjoying food again. i pray before i eat for GOD to bless my food. bc at this point, most of everything, even organic, is contaminated. thanks for sharing your story!
Ответитьi'm a plant-base and studies have showed that we eat animal b------ each now and then
ОтветитьGood for you and for speaking out about it.
ОтветитьI enjoy that you were honest, spoke to your opinion and your life experiences and not fake facts and spread lies. I'm a vegan and have been for a while and I plan on raising my kids that way until they can chose for themselves how they want to eat. Just like you did. I think you did what was best for your child and that's a beautiful thing.
ОтветитьOrganic farming requires manure to fertilize the soil. Without animal farming, organic farming would not be sustainable.
ОтветитьWe became a higher life form because we ate meat, anthropology shows that early man ate meat, of course their meat wasn't factory raised or processed.
Plants defend themselves chemically from predators.
The grasslands for grazing animals produce more oxygen and sequester more carbon than woodlands.
When you research, check to see how they gathered their information first... there is a whole lot of biased thinking being passed off as legitimate research.
Good luck to you and yours, keep reading.... maybe someday you might even try a 90 day carnivore challenge, or not. I love my carnivore way but I know it isn't for everyone
You’re a good mama ❤️😁
ОтветитьIt’s so nice to see parents who are not so indoctrinated with the vegan “religion” and who put their families needs over their dogma. Children should be able to make those choices as adults. Animal products are and have been a part of the natural human diet for centuries and for good reason. Our ancestors had something we lack today… wisdom. I’m ok with adults making these personal choices but to force children is honestly, abuse IMO.
ОтветитьYour kids are so lucky to have you as a mom. Congratulations. I have no problems with adults practicing veganism, unfortunately, they force it on the children who have no choice. That's what pissed me off with vegans.
ОтветитьGood for you!! Introduce fatty fish, raw milk, raw cheese, eggs, etc. Vegan diet works for a short while and then it just stops….. eating wild caught salmon medium rare.
ОтветитьGood for you! You’re a great mom!
ОтветитьYou are so sweet and smart. Thank you for listening to your intuition about your daughters’ health 🙏🏻
ОтветитьI followed a vegan diet for over 4 years. My health declined in mid 2021. And in fall 2021 due to health reasons I reintroduced eggs & red meat. And I instantly felt nourished for the first time in years. I would like to share my story too. But I’m afraid of the backlash that I might get. I still eat vegan foods but definitely not 100% like I was. My body is still recovering. Every day I see a difference. But within a month later of eating animal products my hair loss drastically I mean drastically reduced!
Ответитьyou have perfect teeth, have you had orthodontic treatment?
