Ответитьflywheel should have been resurfaced and at minimum disk should have been replaced or sanded down before install and no TORQUE WRENCH?? BUt other than that pretty good build! I would let these guys do my engines...

ОтветитьIf these guys can afford an engine hoist, they can afford an engine stand. It looks like water at the oil drain, most likely the head warped and instead of fixing the head on first sign of trouble, kept on driving until eventually died of coolant seeping in to the main block.
ОтветитьNo torgue wrench, no bearing clearance measurements.... no measurments at all. All they know is to strip it down and reassemble.

ОтветитьOn one hand, I appreciate the fact that they are doing what they can with what they have. But that poor 1KZ-FT is not going to survive long, sadly.
When it comes to overhauling and machining an engine, there are no shortcuts. Cleanliness and absolute accuracy are critical, you can borrow some time with an aggressive boring, and honing approach but we all know that is not how it's done if longevity and reliability were the goal. Surface grinding, a more rigid boring, more thorough measuring, and the use of a torque wrench are absolutely important. Just my opinion.
Needless 6o say you can’t get a flat head surface from cousin Ahmed with a sheet of sandpaper. So all the bores are going to be a few tens of thousands all skewed. So a 50/50 warranty. 50 percent chance it makes it as far as the street.
