Amazing not even once he mentions baking soda, which is the only thing that works universally for reflux across the board and it's been used for centuries before big pharma kicked in.

Yeah remove tomato based foods, spicy foods, citrus foods... right. Just stop living altogether. Anyway, even if I don't eat I get reflux on empty stomach or drinking water. The fix your diet advice is nonsense.

Oddly enough, my reflux began one week ago when I breathed in some toxins as I was working on a stuck door lock. Et voila…….ALL my issues began. It certainly isn’t my weight or diet. It started immediately after breathing in those toxins. Very annoying and makes me feel bad.

I’ve had acid reflux my entire life because the sphincter that holds food down in my stomach was underdeveloped because I was born too soon. I struggle with it all the time because of medication. Spicy food, fried food, etc never bothered me but medication would trigger it and it hurts so bad.

For the older sufferers - Here is a simple fix that got rid of ALL my acid problems and makes sure that my esophagus is happy. I chew sugarless gum for at least 20 min before going to bed. Now if you eat less than three hours before going to bed it won't work as well. Getting sleepy after eating and giving in to that is not good. Certainly not for your esophagus. As you age part of the problem is less saliva is produced. The gum takes care of that. Guess what heals irritation in your esophagus - Saliva!! If your acid reflux has caused you to have to have that lovely little procedure where they inflate a balloon in your esophagus, chewing gum when you feel irritation (heartburn) can help you avoid that. And sugarless gum leaves your mouth much cleaner! I like Extra brand gum. And it is much cheaper than a LOT of medical treatments.

Eat approximately 1/4 to 1/2 cup of raw oats before going to bed and problem solved. I suffered for years, waking up choking with acid in my mouth, nose and sinuses and nothing helped until I tried plain Quaker oats and it works every time. If I eat or drink too close to bedtime I just eat a handful of dry oats with as little water as possible to wash it down. The oats will absorb excess liquid and keep the acid down in the stomach where it belongs. It may sound weird but it works for me every time.

Years of drugs and alcohol abuse combined with fried foods and salted meats have destroyed my gut health. I've been on kefir, kombucha, and Kvass to replace good bacteria. Also a big shot of Bragg's apple cider vinegar every morning helps. Unfortunately I still smash off hella whiskey, red meat and pain medication. Even though I can't feel as much pain in my guts I know I'm still destroying them. I just pray I die painlessly in my sleep within the next 20 years, eh 10...maybe 5. Lol whatever

I have always had symptoms of acid reflux like imitating the act of vomiting after eating without anything coming out of my mouth, but probably a reflex coming from the end of the osephagus.
Often times the food comes back up and I have to reswallow it again.
I have never had any huge health issues because of it, but my friend just told me he was diagnosed with this, and he was hospitalized and has to watch his diet during certain periods.
I am now 24 and I have had this for as long as I can remember. I also mouth breathe if that is linked to it. Will my acid reflux get worse? How come I've had this for all my life and it never caused any serious damage to my organs while some people just started getting it and are hospitalized a few weeks/months after?

So I should not eat lunch or supper on days that I work got it. I’m just saying I only get one break before acid reflux I ate lunch at work (brought from home) and dinner when I got home. But if I can’t eat 3 hours before bed that means I can’t eat dinner on days I work cause I get home after 10. Like by the time I finished cooking and eating it was almost 11 pm. Or am I suppose to stay up till 2 am and wake up at 8 am.

I know this sounds a bit mad, but I find that when sitting in front of my computer monitor for any length of time, it makes my chest stinging/ burning worse, or brings it on if I don't have it at the time.

I haven't heard anyone else mention this, but just wondered if anyone has experienced this?

I can't find any information on this, other than to say it happens, every time! It could be that the electro magnetic rays are affecting my already infammed oesophagus making it worse, or it could be that something in my blood is drawn, by magnetism towards the surface (?) to make the stinging worse, or it could be of course that I have just become hypersensitive to EMR, but it only started at the same time as acid rebound, and I think it has lessened along with my other symptoms, so there seems to be a link.

Perhaps you all have more modern laptops/ tablets/ iphones etc - not sure it would be the same, but anyway I am interested to hear whether you get worse when in front of a computer!!
