Mirrors
Smoke detectors
Phone Plugins (that were “accidentally” left by previous guests)
Toys
Decor
The back of a fridge
Toilet seats
And the list continues.

There are unlimited places that can be checked in a full security sweep. These are just a few.

The only reason I want to find cameras is airbnbs is because that's how I get off... joke's on them!

Some of the air bnb's have there cameras out in the open. The living area, kitchen, doors, swimming pool area. Its creepy. But they tell you before you rent. I took towels and covered them, one person called immediately and td me to remove the towels...i asked why they were watching us watch tv and they said surveillance. I told him I wasnt removing them until we checked out, and i would wait until they did a walk through to make sure nothing was missing, broke or what ever. He finally agreed, and understood my concerns. Its creepy when you know someone is watching you ..

You charge $25,000 to scan a building? Why wouldn't i just buy the scanning tool myself? You mentioned that these devices, (the good ones) cost tens of thousands of dollars. Why would i not just find a decent one for $20 grand, and keep the extra $5000? I learned to use an oscilloscope on my own in high school, im sure i could figure out how one of the scanners works.

it doesnt have to be the airbnb owner. it can be a guest who likes to leave cameras at any airbnb he visits and watch later. the airbnb owner might not ever know about it.

But people don't fear microphones, they fear hidden cameras and these items are not stuck around objects... Truely disapointing.

And retail spy cameras are not as small as you see in the movies.. they are by far big, and with wires….

I lived in a apartment were they had incomes we suspected they were listing to us but did not know how. They get in our apartment many times taking things and when cops looked at videos nothing. Then one day I caught a lady who lives there with keys to all the apartments and coming out my door. I went right down to manger asking what she was doing in my apartment he said Well let's look at the video Hmmm nothing I then relied he was inon this whole thing and deleting video to prove anything. My cousin paid a x FBI guy to come the place and he said they are listing to us by the intercoms. So we put duct tape over it 3 layers and cameras up. But they turn off electric I know that because microwave was always 45 minuets to over hour off when I come home. Finaly, I put hidden cams in caught the lady who lives there and his wife. I left moved back home Also watch your mail if you live in apartments because they get into your mailboxes too you can go to post office ask to have lock changed and by law you do not have to give manger any key.

have a look on web based 'Spy shops' and check out the sort of gizmos and gadgets they sell that have hidden cameras in them, e.g, alarm clocks, wall clocks, smoke detectors, toys with 'button cameras'. These perverts have to get their items from somewhere. At least you'll know what to look for. Surprised Mr Hanson didn't put a couple of examples in this video.

I don’t agree with “blinking red light” from the power outlet. Outlet with GFCI connectors has got auto test with blinking red light every 10 to 15 seconds, so if that is there in kitchen or on washer-dryer area, (If were to host ABNB then would put there to prevent surge protections fires) than its that one out there.

For little money you can buy devices that will pick up the signal from hidden cameras. That is a really simple solution.

Instead of spending $25000 on bug sweeping instead in the UK spend £5 on zoid magnets,they literally are built to destroy anything electrical around you and the magnet is say the size of a 1oz fishing weight

How about: don't be a cheapskate and stop destroying the local rental markets. Pay for a proper hotel if you want any security or accountability.

Smoke alarms, ceiling fans, air ducts, I’ve even found one in the peep hole in a hotel.

Try and show some examples of what you're try to find. This would be helpful.

How about the ceiling fan in the bathroom? And I would have looked behind the art on the wall. And course any smoke detectors.

I am in my 50s, female and want to travel, but between hidden cams and bed bugs it's pretty difficult. 😂 What about fake fire alarms?

Another consideration of why they might want to film is in case there was something illegal or damaging to their property
If you really don’t wanna be filmed, you might have to check more places than just the naked areas
