So this is a little bit of a nitpicky wording thing but when we say that word, it's kind of erasing what we just said prior to it. So when he says I'm not racist but I want the world to be how it used to. He is falsely protecting himself by bringing it up and saying no no no. We addressed that. That's not me. And then promptly ignored it and said really what I wanted to say by using the word "but"
If someone says to you I love you but we can't be friends or I love you but we should see other people. Your takeaway isn't that they love you. You take away isn't that they care deeply about you because that's not what they wanted to say when you say, "but" it effectively erases everything you said before

How many times must a person be called a "white supremacist" or a "racist" before said person realizes that he might BE those things? Tucker Carlson is both of these hideous personality traits. He thinks we talk about racism too much, yet that's his favorite subject on his show. This creep has done incalculable damage with his on-air rants, because his core audience believes anything he says. Carlson is a dangerous man.

you ever notice how people force themselves to laugh to try and mask their humiliation with humour. it always reminds me when i force myself to laugh, it never feels natural, and same goes for everyone else too. whenever someone says (for example) "we said something super controversial and so many people got triggered *fake laugh*" it always reeks of insecurity like they got their feelings hurt and they need to convince themselves that they wernt.
