Don't drink, don't smoke, but quitting sugar is just the worst! Already cut liquid sugar, and eat a lot of fruit, but still, I know I exagerate.

My mom started mounjaro a few months ago, and pretty much instantly lost her taste for sugar. She tried some diet soda a few days ago and gaged because it was too sweet. Crazy how what you eat controls what you taste.

What sort of terrible advice is this ?
Don’t listen to this guy he is just promoting drugs that have bad side effects. To quit sugar , eat nutritious organic food and balance your blood sugar by eating healthy proteins at each meal

I am a sugar addict but, I have made the decision to quit sugar. I only made the decsion because I had a health scare. You can't tell an addict that it is not good for you to consume their addiction until they are ready to hear it. It will just go over their head and not penetrate. I am grateful that God got my attention in a big way. I realize that I cannot quit sugar cold-turkey but, I do want to reduce it dramiticly. i have made the decision to stop eating candy and cake, and ice cream. it has only been a few days. and my cravings for those substances are reduced, I find myself staring at the cakes and candy that are around me. It's weird. I don't want to eat it but I'm standing there looking at it. much like a dog is hyper focused on the food in your hand. I didn't realize that most of the sugar i get is from my soda. I thought if I eliminate those from my diet at this time i could move on to what I drink. I didn't realize that most of the sugar I consume can be found in my drinks. I don't think I can quit my soda and then the candy, cake, and ice cream. I know I can reduce what I drink, I had switched from coke to coke zero awhile back. and i was drinking less of my soda for a time. but when i ran out of lemon juice to put in my water I started drinking more soda again.

I am basically going through the hardest time of my life right now, my dad has been bedridden for 3 and a half months, he got brain stroke and it’s very hard taking care of him and staying up late… etc. I’ve always had a sweet tooth but going through all that made it worse. However, it’s been almost two weeks I’ve get rid of sugar completely 🥹 I am so proud of myself for it🥹 it can be challenging sometimes but all can say to you, friends, you can do it too♥️

I’m not giving up everything enjoyable in life just so my tombstone can read “ He died healthy.” I eat what I like in moderate amounts, keep my weight in check, and start cutting back when I get over 165. I’m 5’ 8”, moderate build, and stay somewhat active.

1. Awareness: less than 25g
per day. 75 percent of food
in store has added sugar.

2. Recognizing sugar addiction.

3. Never quit sugar cold turkey.

4. Eat whole fruit.

5. Manage cravings.

I did the original Atkins plan (which works, BTW) - the first 2 weeks were hard cold turkey on sugar but after that it was smooth sailing. Now 40+ lbs and 20 years later everything processed and packaged has added sugar! Blech 🤮

Ozempic is a very dangerous venom based drug. Look up which venom from which animal for a big surprise? You will have stomach and digestive problems for a year after stopping its use. Do your research my friend.

I don’t recommend the cold turkey route as this was my experience…I gave up added sugar in Feb 2023 going clean Keto on a Wednesday. First I felt terrible! Keto flu is a real thing! Then I suffered several months of Keto rash as my body cleaned up from my previously terrible eating habits. After 3 months, I felt amazing and I couldn’t drink a soda if I had to! (Blahhhhh!) The really super thing that happened is 23 pounds just melted away since Feb with only dietary changes. Feeling great makes me just want to move more! I think I walked around dehydrated most of the time previous to this one change. It was difficult at first to drink my daily water requirement. Now, I put lemon in my water and know that before, I would have popped the top on a soda.

Drugs are not the panacea for reducing sugar intake, look at the growing body of evidence of side-effects, once people stop the injections many regain the habit and weight. Disappointing this was illustrated as a positive tool in an otherwise informative video.

It’s a 5 min video so I understand not much elaboration but I wanted to know why the 150+ hidden sugars were bad and why they aren’t included in the nutritional facts total number for sugar/sugar added.

Also injection drugs may help but there’s definitely a catch.

I am exceptionally disappointed with this video. This doctor is clearly well spoken, and well educated. However, the only real advice that he gives is to take drugs. This is not something that I am interested in doing, and he offers no other genuine advice, other than this. I cannot recommend this video, or this doctor.

Intermittent fasting really helps.

If you do the 20/4 hours of fasting, make sure you eat your meal (ie: dinner/lunch) before any snacking takes place. Only snack after these meals, it really helps reduce the amount of sugar you eat.

I went to Europe last week and I was surprised at how it seemed like the chocolate over there (including M&Ms)seemed more “real” and less habit-forming!!! It was an eye opener for me. Makes me feel more sure that many U.S. companies are deliberately making sweets terribly habit-forming.

During digestion, all carbohydrates, except fiber, are broken down into simple sugars. The war on sugar isn't quite right. We should instead focus on balance and awareness.
