In the mid 1950s African Americans launched a drive for equal rights in the South that changed the course of history.
The Montgomery, Alabama Bus Boycott was the springboard from which this struggle reverberated throughout the country and the world.
The Montgomery Bus Boycott introduced Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King, Jr. to the nation and set the course for what was to become the Civil Rights Movement. What started in Montgomery was watched by people in South Africa who were inspired in their drive to be rid of Apartheid.
