I think it would be much more endearing if Clayface’s design took inspiration from the veterans of WW1 who were disfigured. They used to make prosthetic masks as an early form of plastic surgery for them, it’d fit perfectly with Clayface’s ability.

Sorry but this one was too sad and frankly a bit boring. He turns to drink because he doesn't like being famous, he loses his job, decides he actually liked it, tries to burn down the opera house, Batman stops him, he ends up getting burned and scarred so then he's called Clayface because his head looks a bit like a lump of malformed clay. So then he tries to kill Batman but fails, goes to Arkham and that's it. I think this is the weakest instalment by far. It would have been better to play him straight like you did with Man Bat and Freeze, but leave it ambiguous as to whether or not the shapeshifting villain was just a myth or if Karlo really died in whatever chemical accident he had. You could say the stories about Clayface "are generally agreed to be urban myth" but end with the implication that in real life he actually could change shape and could still be alive and anyone you pass in the street or know.

Honestly the way this is framed as like a sort of prequel too the dark knight returns is kinda cool, also the court being. Brought up from time to time is also cool
