A US Air Force pilot ejected safely after a F-35 fighter jet crashed during a training exercise at Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska, on Tuesday.

Col. Paul Townsend confirmed the pilot declared an inflight emergency before ejecting due to a malfunction. The jet went down during the landing phase. The pilot is in stable condition and undergoing medical evaluation.
