I Attempted the Coast Guard Fitness Test

They forgot the part where you have to jump over a fairly large puddle!

So there is no swim training exercise for the Coast Guard? Never knew

What about the swimming test ?

I honestly didn't know they were part of the military. Thought they were like the water version border patrol.

there all the military coast guard, army, raf, navy, raf regiment. all are skilled. as a contractor i like the occasional ok one i deal with and i hope to avoid the difficult ones.

Ive been really thinking hard about the coast guard! And i plan to talk to a recruiter coming October sometime, but ive been trying to train myslef on everyhing to be in better physical condition, i will admit the running is my hardest issue and i feel like that keeps holding me back. Ive definitely gotten better at push-ups tho 😅.

Do the surface rescue swimmer test. I’ll be starting the course in San Diego in 2 weeks.

Bruh.... 12 something was my time for a mile in hs and I wasn't even trying 😂 13 mins 36 secs is the max for a mile and a half? Wild. You add those hills tho and I get it lol that's rough man no joke

Coast Guard Veteran here. Cool video. What I remember from Boot Camp is that while those quals were easy for most of my shipmates (pre-Internet) it was swimming that got people. I was a surfer so no biggie for me but if you’re joining a maritime service, you should be a decent swimmer.

Being in the coast guard, been able to see some cool places and do cool things. Fun fact, we are smaller than the NYPD but do a lot more

Great Vid from a former 15 year Hooligan Am2 Back when I signed up there was no PT Test But I was in aviation so I trained with my rescue swimmer buddies and they loved being badasses Semper Paratus !!

You don't need to know how to swim to be in the coast guard??

Got out of Navy bootcamp about a week ago so you already know I have to binge watch all the videos😌

Small world. I served with Denim for quite a while at USCG PSU 312 as part of the DSF. He’s a good dude. Completed several triathlons and always was a stellar shipmate.

This videos are good for deciding what branch you wanna go to if you think you can make it through all the training each one requires.

Last time I heard anything before getting out that the pt requires a new thing with pull ups and everything

We also didn't get 15 mins in between test. They were back to back including swimming
