Do you know you can jump over the gate at the Duty checkpoint? That way they won't turn hostile.

Another useful tip, if you side with freedom instead of following general skulls orders, you are tasked to dispatch some bloodsuckers in the abandoned village nearby, you'll be rewarded with a crystal artifact which will help when going into radioactive zones. Especially useful in the end game.

Fun fact: after returning from bar you may get engaged by some duty soldiers but after killing all of them you can get 2 OTS gorza (I forgot the ingame name) and a tunder 5.45

Does anyone know why the Guards at the Bar turn Hostile after I come back from getting the VSS?

This is a waste, bandits easily go down with any gun you have at the start of the game, I'd save that precious rifle and ammo for later encounters against military, freedom, monolith, etc

Can you help me? after i got those weapons from feedom i tried to go back to garbage but the door is locked and those duies guys were trying to kill me. I cant get pass the door!

On my first play through and still a little confused on how to get into the army warehouses, I’m at the bar but confused on where to go from there, any tips would be very helpful! :)

im late to party but if you grab the wind of freedom suit first, go to the main building with lukash, go to the guard at the armory, drop armour in front of him and crouch jump over, he will not get mad, knife armory lock, bing bam boom youve traded your wind of freedom suit for tons and tons of ammo/tr's with scope and launcher/grenade launcher and good armour :)

I won't lie. This walkthrough was good up until you don't walk us through getting the gun. I cannot find where you are in the bar settlement

you can kill the freedom guy defending the armory by knifing him in the head and they wont turn hostile (most of the time) but if they do just reload a save and try again

Best Stalker guide! The game is not hard to play with the PM, but I love the Vintar BC rifle, and the possibility of getting it early (after starting a new game) is fantastic.

Great video. I had trouble in my game trying to sneak back into the Duty checkpoint because knifing or shooting the gate wouldn't work. In the end I found out throwing a bolt at the gate throws it wide open!

Vintar BC is an absolute tyrant in this game.

Heavy damage, great accuracy, armor piercing works wonders, and it looks badass.

The gates can be opened by pushing them. No need to poke them with a knife. Another problem is that when it is necessary to return, the fighters at the gate will become enemies.

Does this work in the Anomaly mod? I'm about to download it and want to know if the same can be applied to it

If the game allows you to open the gate with a knife then you know that developers cared

Theres also a reasonably good set of armor in cordon in the roof of one of the houses, Youve got to climb up the ladder next to wolf but instead of going into the attic you position yourself on the lip of the roof so you can walk around to the side and jump on the roof proper, Then running jump from the building you're on to the next building (closest to cordon road). Make your way to the access hole in this roof and tucked somewhere in the attic will be a set of armor.

Note that this is only in SoC original. Any overhaul mods/anomaly tend to get rid of it in my experience
