This dude rocks while being in the top 5 percentile of the intellectually gifted. This was one performance that you should have left alone and just said DAMN he is good. If this puts a bustle in yer hedgerow, there are three albums by Paco DeLucia, Al DiMeola and John McLaughlin out that'll set that bush ON FIRE... the first one was the"hit" - "Friday Night in San Francisco" in 1980. But the other two from 1983 and 1996 are the real bomb. I don't do rankings, it's not a contest. But this guy would curl up and die in the company of that trio - of COURSE they were a little competitive, why wouldn't they be? Surely it helped the music.

Sorry but i have to say that i saw many many better guys. I mean he plays the same Am G F E flamenco thing in some variations over and over again. Its good but definitely not the best.

I am a classical guitarist and I really enjoy playing Spanish classical music, flamenco and other Spanish music. I agree with the author of this video. He is clearly not the best guitar player in the world. His performance is very impressive and interesting. I can see some classical guitar playing techniques, such as the right hand techniques, that he uses in the solo part, the leg mount usage and the “guitar between the legs“ classical position. As well, I agree, that his right hand is very good. The rasgeado (the way, how he played chords) and also solo techniques are very good. But there are also some “minuses”. The second part (chord part) mostly contains one chord progression that is played several times. In Spanish classical music or native Spanish music (flamenco and others) there might be a “base melody”, that can be repeated throughout the piece, but it would certainly have different variations, different rhythm patterns and some “development” in terms of the music. I really enjoyed the first (solo) part, it was really interesting, but also not that hard as it looks. Finally, I would say that, some of his actions on the stage can be understood as a “show of”. This point is my subjective opinion. I think, that when you perform, you can do anything you consider is good, but you should also feel the appropriateness of any additional actions in a certain moment. In this particular situation, I think these pauses were to long and they were interrupting the energy of the music, which is an essential thing for flamenco. I would say, it would be better to show your coolness in the music. Do some more good solo, maybe some improvisation, and you will look really cool and skilled musician. That what other flamenco musicians mostly would do in the middle of the performance. You can joke before or after, but in the moment, you speak to the audience only through music, not some thing else.
