is a subwoofer not recommended for turntables? I always see stereo channels being the only option for turntable speakers without the sub.

Ive got an old Sony turntable . I have no clue why anyone would want this other than Talk how about old this tech is. it takes alot of space which is the reason why we got all this new tech today. Might as well buy an analog phone and land line while you at it.

I just received mine in the mail yesterday. Could not get in touch with customer service and setting up if the speakers is a nightmare for me. I am in Walmart buying a audio-technic and new speakers. Based on not getting the customer service. If I cannot even speak to someone not with it!

We got our turntable the other day. Played a 33 rpm Record sound great. And we played a 45 rpm Record. Two days later went back to 33 RPMs. Somehow the belt stretched and now it won’t play. How sad. We just got this thing now we can’t use it. My daughter wanted this thing so bad, we split the cost and now it won’t work. I think leaving the rubber band in 45 mold may have stretched it. It doesn’t take much to stretch this band it’s sort of cheap.

U turn orbit fully manual does nor have good specs at all. What is the fascination when a 40 year old Technics or Pioneer out perforns it and has auto return at the records end.?? Had a Riga planar and wont go back to that tech again. The wow and flutter and sensitivity on these tables is mediocre at best. Playing with the belt to change speed? We are way past that tech.

The most important thing you have to do to with both brand new records and used ones is to thoroughly clean and vacuum your records, If you do not want to invest in a record cleaning machine you may as well stop reading. So you will need a record cleaning machine. Record cleaner. Power cleaner, and record preservative.

Thank you for the video, Andrew (very informative!) As someone who is new to all of this, I have a question regarding the U-Turn acrylic platter. Should there be a felt or cork mat between the record and acrylic platter or can you play records directly on the acrylic platter without a mat? What is your personal preference? Thanks again!

Getting STARTED with records?!? Have they made a comeback?!? I gave up records about 50 years ago. What's next? "Getting Started with 8 Tracks"?!?
Even back in the day records DIDN'T have the best sound quality. From best to worst was reel to reel tape, cassette tapes, LP's followed by 8 Track. After the invention of CD's they took over the number one slot for sound quality ... until like a record they got scratched.
Why the return to old tech? Nostalgia?

Another option with the Audioengine setup is add a subwoofer to the A2's output. Great sound becomes outstanding sound.

Hey! I have a question for anyone who might be able to answer. I'm completely new to this stuff so sorry if this is a stupid question. Is there a way to put together a system that will allow you to use a standalone record player AND a standalone cd player? I don't want to get one of the cheap all in one system floating around but I didn't know if it was possible to have both separate mediums in one stereo system because I can't seem to find any information on the topic. I hope that made sense, thanks to anyone that can answer! (PS I'm posting this on a few videos do sorry if you see this comment more than once lol)

I was hoping you can explain why getting an external pre amp for a TT even though it has one built in already, may help with the delivering better sound/ reproduction of the LP..as some suggest? And in what case is it worth it to by pass your built in TT pre amp? I have the Audio-Technica LP3(has pre amp) with a Yamaha RS-202 which does not have a phono pre amp, and Klipsch RP-400m speakers. Do you generally hear a marked improvement or should one focus on a stylus cartridge upgrade as a first step?

We can use the speakers for itself like for desk's without the Turntable System ?

I set up a Cambridge AXR85, a U-turn custom (no preamp) W / Ortofon 2m red through a pair of vintage Bose 201's (considering SX 60's) system is just playing vinyl, I get a hum from the speakers when I lift up the cartridge. Any thoughts? Thanks!!!!
