HOW TO CHANGE LANES SAFELY WHILE DRIVING (Basic skill to pass the Road Test)

If you are passing a car it’s easier to change lanes. If the lane next to you is occupied by someone going about the same speed. Try decelerating to get over, or simply putting on your turn signal and the person behind you should slow down to let you over. Always look over your shoulder and use turn signals before moving over. Be aware that other lanes besides the desired lane to get into have cars that may want to get into your lane of choice. A lot of accidents happen when two drivers are changing into the same lane. Driving is as easy as driving a go kart think to hard and you’ll psyche yourself out. Don’t think you have to be Danica Patrick behind the wheel to be considered a good driver.

Driving is too hard in california. Everyone is a douchebag and they don’t turn on their signal and they speed and switch lanes constantly.

The most important tip whenever you are driving in multiple lane roads is check your rear view mirror CONSTANTLY to check for speeding cars BEFORE they ever come close to you. You want to see them coming from very far away!

Changing lanes is my worst fear when driving. I can do everything you ask of me, including parallel parking, but changing lanes is anxiety-inducing. You literally have 4 5 seconds to check every blind spot while taking your eyes from the front and speeding up and changing lanes. Sure, when the road isn't busy, it is easier, but when the cars are bumper to bumper, and most people won'twon't let you pass, especially in the HWY, it becomes impossible.

This video did help a little, though, as I didn't know about the car being too close when it's not fully visible in your mirrors. My dad never taught me this, he basically just said it's instinctual and that I'll just learn it eventually.

Yes, many people put the signals and try to change immediately with out checking for other cars. I hate that!!

This was hard for me. I merged on without looking over on my left shoulder and veered over on the right lane in front of a car. Cause of mistake: I was counting on my mother on clearance and I swerved on the right lane without looking and got yelled at but I love her so much. I deserved it because I made that mistake of not looking over my left until it was time. Lessoned learned and it won't EVER happen again. :) Tomorrow I need to work on it. ALWAYS BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS PEOPLE! Don't make that mistake like I did.

In Dubai passing a driving licence is not easy, but the schools are so good they will teach students everything that he/she has know about safe driving, the steps are clear and there are no confusions for example to change lane safely first we look at the center mirror and signal to left or right you wish to change lane, then wing mirror, next shoulder or blind spot and again centre mirror then look straight ahead increase speed not less then 60 km per hour and change lane smoothly, breaking, making shap turn and slowing down during lane change will disqualify, the steps are almost similar with all schools.

We are taught differently in Sweden. We don't blink till we've already checked the mirrors and the blindspot and determined that it's okay to change lanes. If we blink first, we'd cause a person who is already in the process of overtaking us to panic brake. For the person behind, who is already very near, it's not good to have to guess whether the person in front is going to check the blindspot and not cause a collision, or has simply missed them entirely, meaning a crash is imminent.

So I havent' been driving for 10 years ever since I got my license. Should I pay for a coach to teach me everything again?

Step 1: have an audi which is designed so well that there are virtually no blindspots and the mirrors are perfect according to the seat, don't fog up or get water on them from rain because they're heated, have a perfect, wide fish eye view. Not to mention the superior handling and traction control.
Step 2: pass because you have the audi
