In August of 2004 I purchased a 2001 Volvo S60 T5 with 28k miles(46k Kms). It was a CPO return lease at a local Volvo dealer. It was 42% cheaper than its original sticker price. It has been my daily driver ever since. It now has 290k miles(469k Kms) and still runs like a top with just regular maintenance. That’s how I am being financially and environmentally responsible.
ОтветитьBuying a Ford or a Hyundai over the honda or toyota is a bad idea in General. I know thier cheaper, but good luck ever selling them or keeping them for over 10 years. Go With a Mazda!
ОтветитьCrown Signia isn't that posh if it doesn't have a 4-way lumbar adjustment.
ОтветитьPlease let Andrea finish her thoughts 😅 it’s distracting
ОтветитьNote on EV insurance, you really gotta shop around. Your old insurance company might be unnaturally high if they don't feel like they have the right adjusters in your area to analyze things after an accident. Their response is to jack up the price in the that area.
ОтветитьLincoln Nautilus or Ford Explorer? In your response, you point out that the Lincoln is made in China... which may be a consideration for some. I get it. But, you fail to indicate that the Ford is made in the US... which is currently a major consideration for Canadian shoppers. I don't appreciate your response.
ОтветитьWhy do people even talk about reliability on brand new cars...
ОтветитьGet Honda Pilot 2023+ and be happy - best SUV for price/depreciation/quality/preformance combination.
Ответить7 years after buying a new Mazda3, I only had to change the brakes. Had an engine check light in year 10 that was easy to resolve. Replaced suspensions for front and rear links in year 13 and 14 and also starter. Now that's pretty good reliability. Toyota, Honda and Mazda👍. I recently just got a new Toyota.
Ответитьbronco over 4 Runner, lol, NO! Not even close, the 4 Runner will be in new condition 10 years later, the bronco will be falling apart 3/4 years later.
ОтветитьThe plug in hybrid wont run on battery only even if charged 100% if you go over 70mph. Just a thought for future phev owners.

ОтветитьI have to chip in on this whole EV insurance thing. If you're getting a quote of 4.5K you need to find another insurance company (or seriously improve your driving record). I have the insurance renewal documents for our two cars right here in front of me. 2017 CRV: $930. 2025 Audi Q6 eTron: $1750. The Audi has twice the liability coverage, and depreciation protection. Last year the CRV was around $1400 with the depreciation protection..... That means the difference between a mainstream ICE compact SUV and a luxury BEV SUV costing more than twice as much is around $300 per year.
Maybe there are manufacturer specific differences that affect repair costs, I don't know. But seriously, GET MULTIPLE QUOTES!
Only lease an EV and luxury vehicles have horrible depreciation making buying used an excellent decision. Look at Mecum auctions and see what real nice used luxury vehicles sell for. Pennies on the dollar. Just buy an extended warranty.
ОтветитьI follow all your videos — really appreciate the insights you both share!
I have a question: I'm currently looking to buy a used 7-seater SUV and have zeroed in on the 2024 Mazda CX-90 GT (MHEV). I really like the mild hybrid setup and the panoramic sunroof. I'm based in the GTA and hoping to find a used one for under $50K.
I'm specifically looking for a model with captain's chairs in the second row. Do you think I should also consider other options like the Hyundai Palisade or Kia Telluride? I noticed their sunroofs have a split-screen design, which I don't prefer as much.
Would you recommend any other alternatives — like something from Ford or the Nissan Pathfinder? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Buying used luxury cars is the way to go in my opinion. I have a multimillionaire net worth, but still buy used cars. I don’t worry if it hails, someone merges into me, a runaway shopping cart hits my fender, etc. Let someone else eat the new car depreciation and work through all of new car bugs.

ОтветитьWhat Toyota can I buy for under $35K?
Those are the constraints.
250k mi with no repairs.
Everything else is dross.
Atlas doesn't have oil sludge and poor metallurgy compared to Kia/Hyundai. Just don't bother w/ Kia/Hyundai products - especially their EVs with poor battery life/longevity.Avoid all 4cyl turbos (doesn't matter what manufacturer) because all that strain and heat = heat soak, coil/spark plug misfires, timing chains & guides replacements. If you want hybrid, stick with only Toyota - their best at it and just remember whatever you THINK you are saving on gas... put it aside for battery replacement cost if you are financing it or bought it.
ОтветитьI love the green out the window above you. It's very pretty. Nice shade for your video.👍
ОтветитьDrove a Hyundai Tucson (rental) while out West a couple months ago. I believe it was a '24. Hated the feel of the acceleration and REALLY hated the Stop/Start mode (quite a delay when taking off after a stop and could only turn it off when you initially start the car). Cabin noise level was not acceptable either. Loved the big panoramic screen for sure which was great for GPS maps. But that didn't outweigh the other issues. Ended up buying a '25 Forester which is a dream car to me (in the price range I was looking). I don't even notice the stop/start function and forget to turn it off most of the time. Ride is super smooth and cabin is very quiet.
ОтветитьSpot on Zack.. got a 2011 Avalon Unlimited CPO in 2014 for a % of a new one. Still under new car warranty plus the CPO warranty. Still have the car and it run flawlessly. The repairs are cheaper than a new car.. BUT.. we are starting to have trouble getting parts!
ОтветитьI give you guys a thumbs up even before I watch the entire video!
ОтветитьLove my 2 year old Genesis GV60. Genesis concierge service is top shelf.
