How do people find this amazing for an electric engine. Apparently most are clueless about what actually happens with an electric engine. Now do a complete overland trip. Oh wait you can't, the battery won't survive. Hydrogen is the way of the future...

That was the most lame, man bun, latte' sipping, bud light drinking video on rocks I've ever seen. The sound of those electric fans is irritating...AND I KNOW, the newer jeeps, yota's et, al. have them as well. Give me a low torque V8 engine with a nice rumble to it with it's own cooling system, that can CRAWL up and over these, any day over this new crap.

Well a Kia did it, why not a Rivian? I'm not particularly surprised that it was able to perform this task as it obviously has the tools required. Particularly, a motor at each wheel. That being said, what else did it do that day? I've never been to MOAB (i live on the east coast) and i have no idea how long it takes to get from where it last charged up to Hell's gate. I guess what i am getting at is were they able to do any other obstacles or trails or did they have to high tail it back to civilization in order to charge back up? Most of the places i go trail riding i wouldn't even consider using a bettery powered vehicles as it's at least 40 miles of road riding from and back to civilization. Then, throw in a day of wheeling, potential cold weather, etc. you would end up stranded for sure. i'm not so sure that an electric vehicle would ever actually be the choice for off road adventures.

Now put a couple of horses in a trailer and drive it 100 miles..... You will need those horses on the return trip.

Problem is pulling the leather seat cover out of your butt crack after you make it. And getting into Hell's gate is almost as bad....but going downhill.

Being electric it should have a deflation system for the tires as well as air up. That would be ideal.

Thats history repeating itself when a gasoline engine produced more power than a steam engine 120 years ago. It is the same now.
Whether you like it or not, ICE vehicles will be gone in a handfull of years.

It’s the running gear that breaks mostly. The shifting centre of gravity that kills vehicles in rock crawling. You’ll see at one stage all the vehicle’s weight is on the front wheel, while it’s at a very awkward angle.
