I liked B
ОтветитьDo you have a cheap range camera that would go with the mic?
ОтветитьI've just bought a Rode - because it seems to be better at dealing with wind noise, going by other videos I watched. But I prefer the sound of the Boya. Another to consider is the Movo VRX10 (probably the pro version). Let's see how I get on with the video micro, it's to replace my Takstar which was good but slightly bulky.
Ответитьcrazy with how much these bodies cost they should definitely come with a better internal mic! I was so disappointed in the internal mic of the R7 (my first canon) Hense why I'm here.
ОтветитьHi thanks for the comparison video. How well does the boya mm1 reject room reflections (echo) I'm going to start a vlog and my room actually has an annoying amount of echo. I can't put up acoustic treatment because the room is actually my home office and clients come into this room. Maybe you could do a short with and without the MM1 in a room that has a lot of echo, such as a bathroom.
Thanks
I went with A, because I feel that it covered a better range and had greater clarity. B seemed to be very low end dominant.
ОтветитьAwesome video, thanks man!!
ОтветитьYou are genius! The best comparison I have ever seen. Thanks for hiding their names all the way!
ОтветитьI bought the røde videomicro instead of the boya, actually solely based on the fact that it is the more established brand. So it was interesting to see that the boya actually seems to keep up quite well too, I actually guessed wrong too!
ОтветитьBro the boya is now more expensive 😂
ОтветитьAwesome! Could you compare the Boya By-MM1+ or Pro to the VideoMicro II?
ОтветитьI knew right away which was A and which was B. A had the Rode high end clarity. I can work with that in post. Because our ears always adjust to form a baseline B would have sounded much better not following A. I found the midrange on B a little muddy which is the usual problem with budget mics. The best thing about B was it did reduce external noise. The Boya is pretty good indoors so I would have liked the A / B to feature some indoor testing. If you're going to buy the Rode step up to the Rode VideoMic GO II. It's not that much more money and doubles as a USB mic. Or you could buy the Rode Videomic Pro Plus and just get the mic you'll use for the next five years without buying the low end stuff first.
ОтветитьI thought B was better
ОтветитьI preferred the Rode mic sound but I got the Boya. And honestly it's fantastic. I got it for 6 dollars really cheaply, and it sounds crystal clear to me. I prefer the high end of the Rode a lot more, but with the Boya I can just edit the sound to the way I like it. Boya is a much better value alternative to me cause of its price, although if you want the sound of the Rode I say go for it. Love my Boya, fr.
ОтветитьA all day,
ОтветитьB
ОтветитьCan it be plug directly to a a camera?
ОтветитьSee so many videos everyday but never been so impressed .....U genuinely seem to be a super guy. U speak to us like the best friend we know.. thank u! please continue with more videos. Subscribed..
ОтветитьEpic channel, upvote
ОтветитьI wonder if it would be cool to record with both and mix them.
ОтветитьPrefer b.
ОтветитьThanks Mark
ОтветитьJust i bought MM1+ but it's a kind of weird sound like "sssssssssss" when i'm recording, i use Nikon D5300, microphone is dead or something else?!
ОтветитьGreat comparison. Just a question…in our channel we propose flight and walking tour. For this latter we are actually using an iPhone 11 Pro Max on a gimbal but we need a mic for better audio quality. Which one do you recommend for our specific case? Thanks
ОтветитьThanks for great video .
ОтветитьThanks for this, very helpful
ОтветитьI'm glad I thought audio B was better. Because I'll buy the Boya!
ОтветитьThanks for honest review!
Ответитьdo you know what good Microphone for firework explosion I really want to hear the firework nice and very loud
ОтветитьI just ordered the one Boya BY-MM1+ (the one with headphone port) for 17 bucks. I liked the Rode one more cuz I agreed with what you said about it sounded cleaner and the highs are more pronounced. But since I'm on the budget, I might as well go for the Boya especially that it's 4 times cheaper than the rode one here.
ОтветитьWhile B did sound muffled at times, I did prefer it later on in the video. You can’t beat that audio for $30.
ОтветитьCan you pull out enough highs and midrange on the Boya to make it sound brighter without making it sibilant?
ОтветитьVery good video. Thanks for helping with my buying decision. Prefer the B. Thanks
ОтветитьThe Boya definitely sounds a little muddy in the lows, still great for the price though
Ответитьare you shooting from the neighborhoods of Detroit?? it looks lovely and peaceful..
ОтветитьI prefer A to your in-studio lav mic 😐
ОтветитьB has better low - mid tones while the A has more high end with what sounds like a built in high pass filter (commented this while you was doing the comparison)
ОтветитьBUT is the build quality similar? nicer dead cat? better shock mount? yes I know this video is old.. but Im just putting this comment anyway!
ОтветитьThere was a commercial for Goya, Oh BOYA!
ОтветитьI watched another review of Boya mm1 and it was completely rubbish at WIND, audio was not usable at all. So if you're going on trip it's better to have a viedomicrobe which does an amazing job of protection from the wind =)
ОтветитьHi Mark, we have the IDOLCAM VlogStar V2 shotgun/Lavalier microphone in one, can we send you one for the next mic review?
ОтветитьA was better but B wasnt that far.
Ответитьthank you soooo much
this is a great review
i made my mind of getting the boya
I’m partially deaf on the high end so have to go with the rode.
ОтветитьGreat job - SUB from me. 👍🏻
ОтветитьHmm I liked A more, it was more clear and I connected with your voice more
ОтветитьI also guessed wrong. Nice video
ОтветитьGreat video
