I do not agree with expansionism and undermining rights of countries with weaker defense system. I do not know why Mr. Trump is thinking of taking control of Greenland. Issues can be resolved through dialogues.
Minerals or whatever in Green land is property of people of Greenland. Keeping eye on others resources, proper, wealth is very bad idea.

There would be at least this one problem with Greenland coming in with the actual status of US statehood – its excessively low population.
Right now, the average population of a congressional district (CD) is somewhere around ¾ of a million.
The state with the currently lowest population of a CD is Wyoming, with under 700,000.
Trump recently suggested more realistically that Greenland might be combined into single state with Maine, which already has two CDs. In this arrangement, Maine would continue to have its two CDs, since the addition 56,000 to its population would not significantly affect its total.
Nearby Iceland, however, does have a population of 393,600 people.
Now, just suppose icy Iceland were to come in along with Greenland : I t may be at least marginably justifiable for these two islands to enter as a single new state.
