Alex's attempt to compare explanations and defenses of stories from the Bible to explanations and defenses of physics is inept. Physics involves mountains of actual empirical evidence as the basis for the depth of understanding and the Bible is merely more story telling about story telling completely unmoored from any objectivity.

The fact that a question of defining what is a woman sparks so much controversy is evidence of cultural degradation of society.

Omg, I’m so incredibly happy I stumbled upon this vid.. just finished watching the JP talk and was insanely frustrated listening to his intentional disingenuous attempts to never truly discuss the topics. The talking down, the “weave”, the insane pace in which he derails conversation, the arrogance in tone (“no one else understands all the literatures”) … absolutely painful to watch. I’m happy I wasn’t alone and to hear you guys echo some similar frustrations. I was starting to think it was just me! Lol

Jordan Peterson is not an honest broker. He talks and talks and talks without saying much that has any meaning. He's one of those guys who thinks the more you say, the more intelligent you are and that's not the case.

😂😂😂 It is interesting to realise that ever since our primitive ancestors learnt to turn their conflicted thoughts, fears, desires and grunts into words, speech and eventually complex written languages. They also unleashed their ability to lie, cheat, con, fool and deceive themselves and eachother ....and create, peddle and fight over every possible kind of corrupt, subjugating and self serving "master and minion" or "boss and minion" ponzi pyramid bullshit!

Always to con, indoctrinate, lever, fool or force others the bow down to them.... or some imaginary deranged juju gods or woowoo devils that don't exist!

All so those at the top can own, control, milk and screw others... Or build cults and empires to have power, authority and dominion over all they can!

Which continues to this day with the usual division. disparities, conflicts, artifice and bullshit!

The guy on the right is projecting a malicious or disingenuous intent onto Jordan Peterson because Peterson triggered him. Peterson is a moron but Alex is right that Jordan thinks of himself as having some real point, but also that he just has no interest in conveying it clearly.

Jordan Peterson always responds with a word salad; so many words, so little expressed. Ask him “what’s for dinner?” and you’ll likely get something far worse than: “The time for dinner is now because dinner time is happening. Dinner is happening because it needs to happen, and everyone will be making dinner. It is an exciting time that dinner is being made. And it will be the best chicken dinner ever.”

i cant speak for peterson, but as a mythoogical reader of the bible who understands fundamentalist christianity (and what a huge portion of christianity is fundamentalist these days) he probably doesnt want to be declared a heretic by that group of influence...and he certainly would be if he definitively undermined the supposed historicity of the bible. (i get called a heretic regularly)

The reality is that everything is absolutely airy fairy. Our entire perceived existence is totally subjective, and even those things we think concrete are measured in abstract units of our own design, words of our own design, concepts of our own design, it's all just us on top of us in an infinite layer cake of bullshit.

The greatest delusion of all time is that we know anything "for real" about anything. The closest we can come to truth is understanding that we don't know anything, but we believe a great deal.

Our entire society is premised on imagination. Our greatest scientific theories are simply models of expected behavior from a pathetic cross section of reality. We've barely begun to scratch the surface of any given subject, and if you ask the experts they'll be the first to say, "Shit man, we really don't know anything... but it's pretty cool what we can do anyways!"

Logic is simply a play thing of the intelligent to avert madness. Science simply a tool to be used to be more comfortable in a deadly, terrifying universe. Religion simply a way to pretend it isn't all just chaos and darkness.

Embrace the screaming void of eternity. You will not escape it, for you came from it and to it you shall return.

Your analogy about the quantum physicist being asked about objects being smashed together perfectly demonstrates why JP's dialogue style is so frustrating and ineffective for so many, and so dazzling for some. If you don't come down off your pedestal to engage with someone's question in the spirit that they have asked it, even if you take issue with or think your insight into the nature of the question is more important, then you are choosing not convey meaning reliably and efficiently. You may succeed in challenging the thinking behind the question some of the time, and the value of this is higher in some discussions than it is in others. But if you employ this all the time, then you obscure or avoid conveying any pertinent meaning at all. Of course, it is great to challenge the thinking behind a question, and sometimes reveal an underlying assumption or greater context, but meaningful discussion requires direct responses a lot of the time, and JP avoids this in a nauseating way, when it suits him, and far too often.

U got to understand that every prophet's miracles confirm the miracles of the prophets that came before them and the existence of God. Jesus being the last it's not a coincidence, this was the will of God to provide irrefutable evidence of the scripture, it's not a coincidence the bible says "If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." -Romans 10:9.
In other words, Peterson is being asked if he has faith enough to be saved. But Jesus also says in Matthew 17:20-21 "Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
In other words, it's the kind of leap of faith Christians go to church every Sunday, baptize, read the bible every night, and pray every day for.
