LOST...why would you HIRE different..designers for every room?----just pick a great one and use them alone-----and I'd keep it more "older style" (cottage looking) and NO Smeg just reading that and hearing it sounds wrong

I have a question... Did you refer to your house as a phallic house because you know no one would brag about stealing from the penis palace?😂

I know this video is almost a year old but I just rewatched it and there’s one thing that stood out to me! I loved the concept of this video and all the beautiful designs, BUT I would go back and look at storage in every room. There’s very little storage overall and you’re gonna need somewhere to put your clothes at minimum. I agree the current closet in that room is awkward and needs to go but I’d consider if there’s a way to turn that existing shelf space into a more usable closet. For the second bedroom maybe a standing wardrobe if nothing else. Also consider where to put linens. Is there somewhere you can add storage in the bathroom? Excited to see where you take this new house!

Despite the fact that I invest, I am saddened by my inability to evaluate each company's performance and determine whether or not this is the ideal time to purchase stocks. My monetary stockpile is being depleted by inflation. At this stage, I need accurate market trajectory data, but I'm not sure what to do.

Dude that's a home run right there with the view alone. Having lived in a home with ongoing renovation it will be challenging especially with a cat. Just check out the comps in the area don't spend too much money and make yourself upside down in the house. I'm impressed that you're 29 years old and you're already buying a home. Most kids your age in the United States can't even get themselves up off Mommy's couch and out of their pajamas.

Leave a Grassy area in garden for Earthing/Grounding for humans and pets. Grounding is essential for good heath. Thanks for sharing.

What kind of cat carrier do you use for Junior? I'm in the market for something new since my cat hates his cat backpack and the other carrier I've tried so far.

In our part of Scotland, that much money wouldn't buy a plot or a large shed. At least £300,000 is essential to think of buying anything -- IF [and that's a big IF] anything even becomes available, which doesn't happen often. Lucky you!

Like a teenager who could change everything with a little two-word graffiti, I always have to keep from snickering whenever I see "S M E G" written across someone's prize objet d'art in their trendy kitchen.
As for the colours in the kitchen: this may sound odd, but I'd think about the food you love cooking (and/or how you get inspired when standing in there, wondering what to make). Lighter wood tones and modern hardware always make me feel like cooking lighter & brighter food; darker wood and stone surfaces seem to bring out the heartier winter comfort food cook in me, still lurking somewhere from a past life.
Your garden seems like it will be lovely, and crucial - whether you're sitting right in it, or letting your mind feel a bit freer by visually traveling through all that expanse : )

What a great idea to work with designers who can help you visualize what you can do with the space. That’s such a critical tool at this stage where you’ve just purchased it and gathering ideas for a re-model.

My humble opinion would be stay away from grey tones if you are trying to bring in more light.

Also, there are lots of ways to bring in a pop of color in the kitchen. Consider buying a Smeg toaster toaster instead of a fridge. They make a great toaster!

Good luck to you and your brother in your new home. Very exciting!

Since Scotland’s winters can be quite chilly, I would recommend enclosing your shower fully with glass to keep the steam in and keep you warm while you shower. The open showers look great but just try opening the door or pulling back the curtain when you’re in your shower next time and you’ll very quickly want to close it again!

In the long run you'll probably be happy with a lighter style for your permanent featured like floors, cabinets, and large furniture. It's easy to "warm" a light room with some darker accents or even paint on the walls, than it is to lighten a darker styled room. My advice to you is to keep the stuff you don't want to replace for a while light and neutral. You'll keep it longer. Also, I've had clear glass shower walls in the past. Always ended up frosting it for more feeling of privacy. So if I had a choice now I would just go with frosted and not clear glass for the shower. Just my opinion. Enjoy designing your new home! It's so much fun! : )

In 2012 a friend of mine paid £140,000 on a flat in Glasgow's south-west side. It was about half the size of your house and the block of flats was kind of falling apart, no back yard, no parking spot. I guess you got a better deal a decade later because you bought in a village and not a big city?

Strong colours date very quickly and can be quite hard to live with. The house looks like it is a nice size and in reasonable condition for the money. When you buy a house that is habitable with some history, you really have to live it in for a while to get the feel of its character. My advice don't rush into making any costly decisions because it is easy to run out of budget.

Light. Modern. No SMEG.
I was looking the other day what £100 - 140k could but in Scotland. I'm pretty sick of living in a city and know I don't have many options moving to the coast or county near where I live. I'm not a huge fan of cold dark winters but I think I could cope if I was near the coast, or running water as you mentioned!
The render of the kitchen looks brilliant.

vintage like, classical cabinetry in either a muted deep brown OR a warm coffee would be beautiful in that kitchen :,)) its a smaller space so ideally you might wanna keep it lighter if your goal is illusion of space. but if youre like me, the cozy warmer colors are always the way to go
