Kasol is really overrated, just people are smokin' hash and living in really expensive tents moreover, views from the place aren't good either, (views of hills are far better from manali, if you know where to stay), and finally if you really really don't care about the super expensive cafes, rave parties and bars which btw you already have in cities, you should stay in sissu (70 kms from manali). That place offers great views of snow mountains, very less "typical tourist crowd", and a real places to setup your own tent, bon fire, peace + silence to connect with nature, unlike kasol which is just a big circus, rave parties. (There are few good treks in kasol I won't lie, grahan is one of them).

Kasol is full of natural beauty situated on the bank of river Parvati but at the same time Civic aminities wise it is very dirty also, dirty broken roads, open drains, shabby eating outlets make this beautiful village a place between yes or no.... Besides, it is a den for drug lovers , not a suitable place for family....
I went there three years back, it might have improved by now...

V sad you Misinform all about actual local culture faith and facades of sacred parvaty Valley ? U fail to show huge Renuka Jamlu Jamdagni Parshuram temples of Malana Tosh and Manikaran before rest of faith invaded it? Alexander fake story only by leftovers who fail to show Mai temple.i stayed here as Dr served them in 2015.Anyone can call rescuer hotelier museum homestay owner negi of jari chowki below Malana to conform !
