I think Jimmy enjoys the notion that his jokes are the last bastion of sense and that they mark the end of 'true comedy'. However, I think it'll be more akin to the way we look at minstrel shows of the 1960's. E.g. The addition of 'non-binary' (whilst undermining the point he's trying to make in this application) is used not as a witty observation or remark on the community, but serves purely as a point of ridicule aimed at an already heavily marginalised group of people. If you need any greater mark of this mans sense of morality, take a look at his tax return.

I honestly think making jokes of traumatic events is a coping mechanism. Yes, the events have been quite horrific, but sometimes people need humor in order to cope and process it.
