Select European or Japanese Original Mode with the options button.
Once the game starts press the Touchpad, go to Game Settings,
Change Number of Players from 3 to 99, (Press left 3 times) and Difficulty from Level 4 to Level 1.
Press circle twice to back out and then X to Save settings.
Press R1 to insert a credit and Options to start the game.
