Back when I was 8 I got grounded for a month for stealing a roll of quarters to buy candy, taught me a lot of patience. Later on in life when I met a girl similar to Fern, I didn't mind it that much, felt like a puzzle, and I like puzzles

Not saying her behavior is right, but it’s understandable. And stark…well stark is a good boy, what more needs to be said.

She's an orphan who's been through a lot.
Trusting others is difficult for her.

She spent three hours picking out a gift because she wanted to spend those three hours with Stark but couldn't just come out and say it.

But in the end, Fern would fight God for that stupid bracelet, because Stark picked it out for her.

This anime is almost perfect. It has humor, amazing characters, wordlbuilding, story, and an exquisite balance between comfiness, action, comedy, and philosophy. I've watched a lot of newer animes over the past two months and this is easily top 3.
