I bought a jacket and the only problem I had, was regarding the shoulders that look exactly as you showed on this video, Will fix it once I come back home, appreciate it.
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьSuper
ОтветитьLurnt alot man، Thank you very much.
ОтветитьIs there any way to avoid using the machine ? I don’t own one. I do have thread and needles though
Ответитьlove that jacket and shirt combo by the way. Patterned brown and medium dark blue is just great
ОтветитьThank you so much for this!!
ОтветитьThank you for sharing this video. I would really like to see more videos. On making an over sized thrifted jack fit better. Hope you have a great day.
ОтветитьWho doesn't like your longer videos?! Idjets! You're fantastic!
ОтветитьJust got more into thrifting lately and wanting to dress better; really excited to try some of your techniques! Thank you :)
ОтветитьThank you for this! I thought this should be possible but all the tutorials I saw involved taking the jacket apart and like you I thrifted the jacket and did not want to go to that much trouble! 😊
ОтветитьCan this be done without a sewing machine?
ОтветитьSo helpful. Thank you
ОтветитьMake it more in depth.
ОтветитьWon’t this end up with front of the cuff being lifted up at an angle compared to the under cuff?
ОтветитьYO!!! This is awesome!!! I thrift the majority of my jackets and this will help me dial in a few!! Especially because a lot of the ones I find have that kind of dated shoulder pad look.
ОтветитьVery nice sarji thanks 🙏👍
ОтветитьI love all your suits
ОтветитьVery informative .very well explained . Thank you for this good video. Jose from Australia
ОтветитьThank you so much for this
ОтветитьDoesnt look good. It doesnt work easily like this especially with thick and layered fabric as such. That’s because when you trim the shoulder, the loophole is getting bigger while the connecting part on the sleeve stays the same.
ОтветитьLouis, I've watched and rewatched this video. Thank you! I'm a decent amateur and have tailored lots of shirts and pants. Do you think an amateur can do this at home with a decent machine? Looks scary, but i lost weight and nothing fits!
ОтветитьYou just saved me from re-thrifting an amazing men’s blazer! I already spent money to have some tailor work done, but it still wasn’t quite right
ОтветитьDude, thank you! I am going to try this on my sports coat. Lost some weight and dont want to get rid of it.
Ответитьhow do I shorten the coat?
ОтветитьExactly what I was looking for. So much easier and faster than reattaching whole sleeve twice.
ОтветитьI keep sowing the arm shut 😫
ОтветитьThank you. I'm in a Halloween sewing nightmare. This is amazing
ОтветитьWhat watch are you wearing?
ОтветитьThanks alot! what if i want it to be a shirt shoulder, what do i do? i would be very pelased if someone answered i have this very nice jacket but don't know how to fix it :):)
ОтветитьThank you! I’m going to try with a hoodie! Great video!
ОтветитьWhat to do if the customer wants a whole inch and a half off all the way around the sleeve so it shortens the length of the sleeve and decreases the sleeve size?
ОтветитьIf the shoulder pads are to big I wouldnt totally do away with them. I would get a set that is thinner. Then if still need to take that seam down along the shoulder then u can do so, but the point of a shoulder pad in a suit coat is to give structure and support along the shoulder from the collar to the sleeve. You want that crisp clean line across the shoulder. I speak from from a professional level as I have been a tailor for over 30yrs. Plus if you have seen the runways for 2023 the shoulder pads are in style for men and women. If they are to big by all means take them down, but I wouldnt completely take them out. The shoulder will become baggy and unstructured and become that sloppy 80s look.
ОтветитьI really like the way you reduced the shoulder in such a quick efficient way. Thank you for sharing!
ОтветитьYou just earned a new sub. Great tutorial as I am barely getting into tailoring my clothes. Thx a bunch.
ОтветитьMujhe lga mera blazer hi defected h pr ye to common problem h😅😅
ОтветитьI'd like to add a step. I think it is important to always use a press cloth when pressing a garment like this. Otherwise I agree with your instructions.
ОтветитьDo it. i want to see how you get into that shoulder and move that seam thru that padding/flannel layers and lay flat, no point😮
ОтветитьI'm glad I found you. Can't wait to see what else you have. Thank you.
ОтветитьI'm fine with your easy method, it's not going to show anyway. Just thrifted this fabulous camel double breasted full length coat! I'll be doing the same for the sides. Thank you!
Ответитьthanks for doing this it really helped me.
Ответитьoh my god this is so easy how did i not know how to do this 😂 thx king! 💕
ОтветитьSweet! Looks way way way better after you fitted it!
ОтветитьVery bad job
ОтветитьI'd like to see a more traditional method for shortening (raising) the shoulder of a man's jacket. I have volunteered as a "tailor" for my local theater company and they're asking me to reit men's suits. I've sewn a lot but this type of work is new and challenging to me.
THanks.
What a great video! I bought this gorgeous cashmere jacket but the shoulder pads are huge’ now I know EXACTLY how to fix it!!thank you !!
ОтветитьSubbed - great content!
ОтветитьThanks for sharing! I was t old that this couldn't be done by the seamstress I used for my suit jackets as I am still working on getting up the nerve to tackle this myself.
