I think "czesc" is closer to Hi than hello. The best understanding to this word is Italian ciao - same function (in/out greeting). No one use "milo mi ciebie poznac" in Poland. This sound weird ;)

You can also say “Nie umiem po Polsku.” Or “Nie mowie po polsku.” Or “Nie znam polskiego.” All mean “I can’t speak Polish.” Or if you want to get fancy, “Moje polskie slownictwo jest bardo slabe.” (My Polish vocabulary is very weak.”)

It’s always better to start with the most polite forms in Polish. If you begin a job interview with “Jak sie masz?”, you probably won’t get the job. Also children appreciate being treated as adults. So it’s OK today to say to a child initially “Jak sie Pan or Pani ma?”

In the UK, we use "sorry" and "excuse-me" interchangeably. The gist is that "excuse-me" is an order, therefore, it's rude. "Sorry" has a more polite tone to it. I think only Americans find these significantly different.

I'm half polish/half German. Never even thought about the polish language until a couple weeks ago. Its fascinating. Also it reminds me a whole bunch of High Valyrian lol

Po co wogóle uczyc takiego zwrotu? Raz ze to jest negatywny przekaz zarówno dla osoby uczacej sie mówic po polsku , dlaczego mówic czego sie nie umie? to i tak wyjdzie na wierzch no po co rozglaszac ze sie nie umie mówic po polsku?
