I love Tolkien as a literary critic, a person with many good ideas about structuralism (in life and literature) and THE authority to turn to on essays for building fantasy world. I get the movie references for Lord of the Rings somewhat, but I hardly remember watching the movies. I was 8 when the first one came out and Harry Potter was the fantasy franchise at the forefront for me then. And I have never carved out a weekend to watch them alone, not in uni or in grad school. I’m thinking it’s a waste of time since I have no friends to call up and do this marathon with.

The music is grand; the LOTR musical is grand too (Bet few know about that bit if media.); and the upcoming Shire take on the Animal Crossing/farming simulator game type looks cozy and wonderful too. Sigh, I will focus on the bouncy hippos and new animals while I await that movie marathon.

Funny how Lord of the Rings was mentioned considering I watched the trilogy for the first time last month in November.
I thought it was fairly good but not as amazing as some people find it, probably an 8/10 overall.

To be fair given where exactly Florian is wearing the badges and how small he is compared to them I don't think it's physically possible for him to wear more than one at a time. No idea why the other characters wouldn't put them on themselves instead though.

Poor innocent chugga grinning because of a stupid paper mario joke in his head instead of the fact that Florian just said he is keeping his "royal seed" in that castle.

I'm so glad I'm not the only person who fell asleep to Lord of the Rings. I've NEVER been able to watch them without passing out, and just like John I fell asleep in theaters too

Nah - Emile's right. LOTR is pretty boring for the most part.. Books and movies alike. Too much talking about nothing, or characters singing songs that have nothing to do with anything else going on. For high fantasy books, I prefer Eragon and The Sword of Shannara. Much more concise and to-the-point storytelling.

Mildly hot take but i for one am glad Rosalina isnt in this game. She's a neat character and it's fine to have her in Mario Kart and Smash or whatever, but she doesnt belong in the platformers imo

So, I was today years old when I learned it was "mennonite" as well.

I always thought meta knight was a weird name for a religion, but I never questioned it.

As a Mennonite- XD I am so going to point this out to the head of sound crew at church. Never even thought about Meta Knight = Mennonite and I love it

I remember the first time I heard Amish Paradise, I was just getting into Kirby and on an insane Meta Knight kick. And yes, the first thing I thought of when they said Mennonite was “Meta Knight” and I STILL use that word replacement to this day.
