Man, I wish we could get these in the US.
Ответитьhello. i try Magnetic Sheet + Neodymium 2mm. i am I'm disappointed.
i prefer steel steel + neodymium 2mm or better 3mm in height.
recently got into battletech which uses hexagon bases wondering if one these round magnet base sheets would fit in the bottoms
ОтветитьAlso warning. If you try to buy from their ebay store they will charge you 19 dollars per sheet and 62 dollars shipping. So 82 bucks a sheet....unfathomable
Ответить64 bucks in shipping to USA for three 4L and Two 9L making it about 190 pounds. Yikes.
ОтветитьWouldn't you want a smaller diameter magnet to fit inside the 32mm bases instead of on the lip?
ОтветитьHi Nick,
Quick one - I have magnetised my necrons already (100s+ warriors etc...)
Does it matter which pole is facing out with with these sheets?
How can I buy those ferrous sheets in the states?
ОтветитьGreat video Nick! :)
ОтветитьHow do we get this in europe? They're not working with VAT on their website. Import costs and vat supplements are no joke here
ОтветитьJust wondering I have to walk to my local store so what sort of bag could I use to transport my minis in these boxes to and from the store?
ОтветитьWe really need a video like this for USA and Canada.
ОтветитьWait so the circular magnets they designed stick out from the bottoms of the base? I thought 1.5m thickness was thinner than the depth of the base.
ОтветитьLove the idea. My concern and question would be what do we do with our 50mm based models? (Skorpekhs and Technomancers) I can only see 25/32/40/60 options.
ОтветитьThis is a birlliant option for miniature storage, but sadly when I went to try purchasing some, the shipping cost was 30 pounds, far more than the value of the sheets themselves. Back to the drawing board.
ОтветитьWhat magnet sizes do you recommend for various 40k model sizes?
ОтветитьWould this work big models. I have deepkin from Age of sigmar and alot of them have flying bases so I just was not sure.
ОтветитьJust real quick. I wanted to say. You good sir! Are the man!!
ОтветитьThat was really useful, thank you. A couple of weeks back, I bought my first miniatures in 15-20 years and my current system of old Amazon boxes, bubble wrap and kitchen roll is less than ideal.
Is there any sort of affiliate link you have with the Magnet Shop? Or some way I can let them know that my order is down to your recommendation? It's great that they were so responsive to your feedback.
Wish I’d got these before I got the A4 sheets, the magnets adhere so much better to the warmag sheets
ОтветитьThanks for this! The 32mm discs arrived today and it’s a game changer! I’ve based all of my boyz from the ork combat box. I’ve also ordered the warmag sheet (the green one) which looks amazing and was fitted in under 10 secs.
ОтветитьNice video, I'm curious how you'd transport boxes to gaming at lgs or events if you use public transport?
ОтветитьSeems like a great product! A shame for me personally is that the shipping is outrageous to Sweden (85£!) and there doesn't seem to any retailers carrying this product.
ОтветитьI don’t know what a necron is but now I want one.
ОтветитьAny guidance on how many models you can get in an A4 space?
ОтветитьHow well do metal washers stick to these magnetized sheets? I still got plenty of them around at home...
ОтветитьInitially I thought this was a great idea. However, a quick look at the pricing and I see it is stupidly over-priced. The slightly bigger sheet (with some unwanted stickers) is about the same price as TEN A4 sheets. The box deals then cost the box at £10 for a 4l box and £14 for a 9l box. I managed to buy three 9l boxes for just £15 at the weekend. So for a single box for a small army the ready made combination is £22 for a smallish force, with no larger models; or £26 if you want to combine small and large models in the same box. Shopping elsewhere I can do 3 home made boxes for ~£27 and still have loads of sheets left over for my other armies. True I'll have to stick the sheets down and won't have some stickers and a pen for the outside, but really .....
ОтветитьNice vid Nick, sadly I ditched 40k and AoS in favour of Necromunda. Still have my armies just don't play those games right now, mainly due to GW's business practices
ОтветитьA great looking product. I think for cost reasons I'll stick with the a4 and round magnets in the bases as I have a number of metal models that will probably be better with those and easier to standardise.
ОтветитьId love if they did astra militarum theme
ОтветитьWonder how many of theses I would require to hold a knight?
ОтветитьAnd don't stumble. I used a high iron steel sheet on an old bed tray with RE mini magnets, held like a champ. A stumble and lurch saw minis bang into each other. Oh, Necrons too. I keep superglue on hand, so a few quick fixes and ready to play. Transport them that way other than walking around a tournament? Sorry, nope.
Oh, the magnets are strong enough that the minis can stick together if the polarity and position are right.
Can we get those sweet ferrous sheets in the US? Or is it only available in the UK? This is exactly what my gf and I need for our storage issues
ОтветитьHonestly this has made me so excited and so angry in such a short space of time.
I have loads of these and have struggled to sort out the extra bit on top of an A4 magnetic sheet (ones that I bought from the magnetic shop) saw this video and skipped off to buy me a pack.
Imagine my shock when they are £10.95 each sheet. Now that could be the colouring but if you just want plain black it’s the same price. Honestly I feel taken advantage of! I feel like someone has told the the magnetic shop that wargamers have money and they’ve decided to mark their product up (by my calculations) around 430% compared to the price of their A4 10 pack 0.85mm thick sheets.
Honestly I’ll avoid the magnetic shop products because of this it’s made me angry enough to do the math!!
thanks for the vid - i assumed that the round magnets go inside the rim of the bottom of the base so it sits flush without adding height to the base but now I can see that they adhere to the bottom of the rim underneath.
so for me i think i'll wait to see if they make ones that can fit inside the bases
Only issue I’ve found with magnetising bases is that when I’m playing and I have some models all tightly packed together (EG taking cover in/behind a terrain piece) the models can flip over as the magnets on other bases come close to each other.
Any tips on how to be a noob like me and avoid this?
If you're in Canada, local stores (Staples or Walmart) have a line of boxes called 'Bankers Box'. They come in the same sizes, with similar snapping mechanism but are almost half the cost of the Really Useful Box brand.
Pro-tip: Use the containers upside-down, so that your minis sit on the lid. This makes it so that, when you remove the cover, your minis are on a very convenient army tray.
Them wooden ducks! You're so British I love you .
ОтветитьLove the look of these. I have a question though: can I put the magnet bases over bases with actual magnets already stuck on, without the magnets fighting each other? What I have is ok but they slide a bit so could be better.
ОтветитьThis was helpful. Thanks
ОтветитьGreat video. Thanks for the tips and tricks.
ОтветитьI would like these boxes if they had a handle on the top so that I could hold it like a briefcase, great video, cheers. Necroooons!!! :D
ОтветитьGreat vid mate
ОтветитьAwesome Vid! Loving how The Maget Shop is really listening to players!
ОтветитьHey Nick! So i just made a list of what models i have on what base sizes. Do you think The Magnet Shop would end up doing a large range of sizes? I have 28,32,40,50,60,65,80,90mm sizes xD. Would be great if we could just get everything from one place!
ОтветитьCan someone send me a link for the coloured sheets? Looking at the pink ones, I cant actually find them on the website?
ОтветитьYou know I've been looking around for boxes just like that to put my models in. Straight flat walls and bottom. Could never find anything like them. I did find something close to them about a year or so ago and I updated my old storage system of the classic blastic boxes with the slightly slant angled walls to my current ones. Now that I got that done but finally someone actually tells what the name of these boxes are I feel like getting these now.
Which is a hard decision seeing I play Orkz and currently got like 15k points of Orkz.....
I have two questions. One, how do you get stuff like Triarch Stalkers to woke with this system? I have been slowly getting my Necrons set up for this but no idea how I'm gonna do them.
Two, did they say when the 32mm magnets would be available? I don't see them on their website yet, do I just need to contact them directly to order them?
This is so exciting! I'm lazy and this makes things a lot simpler! Lol
ОтветитьWonderful Review. Been keeping up to date with this series of videos youve been making and its been such a godsend for alternative solutions. Got back into the hobby a few months back but back in my "hayday" was only foam cases which were alright up to a point (though was a nightmare for anything with spikey bits like my old chaos army). There is definitely one flaw with this current system in the eyes of competitive play as I believe it has been mentioned as you cant adjust the height of the bases. Could always shave down the bases by 1.5mm but that would be quite an extra effort. However I did notice that the magnetshop guys are selling 25mm versions (Ive just ordered a few in addition to their new sheets). Going to try and see if I can make them flush with some greenstuff or potentially 1p coins in the hollow areas. Really love what both you and the magnetshop are doing though so thankyou both very much :)
