hey Lou, Launch or TopDon? I was leaning towards launch sense the have FCA gateway but topdon just added it too apparently. I am between the Launch USA x431 torque link and the topdon phoenix smart. I can get either unit for $1800. I can even drop that price down a few hundred more if I buy a Launch Global unit (pro3 ace) and get the smart link vci box later. figured I ask you first. thanks

So, as a man with a degree in electronics and network and telco I can tell you A TOP OL OGY is correct. 2 Topology is the design of the network, back bone, nodes, and communications structure. A synchronous to token ring to broadcast are all the ways node to node has been done in years. Auto adopted the LAN designs to call the CAN and then broken it down into bus speed like how a motherboard classifies the packets based on header packets and using effectively a gateway which is a traffic cop that keeps unneccessary noise ( packets from non primary nodes ) from using bandwidth.

Hey Lou, been watching a lot of your videos and I’m really impressed with your knowledge. I’ve been looking for a scanner to work on three Mercedes that I own. A 2011 E350 convertible, a 2003 CL 55 AMG and a 2001 Clk55 Amg. What would you recommend for an enthusiast DIY with a technical background? I need something bi-directional and possibly something that can do coding should I want to change instrument clusters or various modules. Thanks for your guidance and keep those videos coming. Lou if you select "system scan" instead of "Smart Scan" it will highlight in blue which modules are supported by the Topdon scanner model on that particular car you have connected.

Hi Lou, im having an issue with airmatic in a Mercedes Benz 218 CLS 63 2012. This car only has rear airmatic suspension. The thing is that the suspension works perfect driving in the city but once i get some highway with constant high speed rear height rise all the way up and get stuck in there, the only way to return it to normal working is turning off the engine and turning on again and inmediatly it automatically deflates and return to its notmal height.(Have no error codes, used scanner and all sensors values are fine, tried recalibration again and it completed but airmatic still keeps doing the same.

I am from Canada and love your videos. Is Mercedes brand has quietness, quality and cloud smooth ridings? I am thinking of 2014 and up S class. Not sport person.looking for pure luxury where i dont want to feel any bumps or roughness of roads. May be video on that aspect will help or advise here is ok too. Is lexus LS better?

Lou recently I bought an Xtool 7 yet it doesn't do anything like the TopDon which is what $1100 or so. I liked the Can bus talking system it offers too. So 1 quick question: is my ABC module on Canbus?? I changed out 2 of them & with the Xtool still getting "no communication ". I'm trying to adjust the suspension. If I recall I'm getting 12 v both in/out but I'll have to double check that soon. Very thx

I am really enjoying your videos. The video you did in the Airmatic system was fantastic — thank you for being so thorough in that tutorial. I think in that video you used the Xtool A30M. I need to update my scanner. Currently, drive and work on my own Mercedes (W203, W211) — I have been thinking about a TopDon scanner, the A30M looks intriguing, but also an MB Xentry system (off eBay, tricky perhaps if it will work right or not). Do you have any recommendations? I am a DIY, but I follow the factory service manuals and procedures when I fix my vehicles. Thanks again for making such great content, I subscribed a few days ago and looking forward to what you have to share and I appreciate you doing it and keeping the community going.
