How RealD 3D Works

real3d glasses seem to be just NOT left circular on one side and right circular on the other, if that were true all the light would be blocked if you tried to look at someones left eye with your right (close your left eye) and get a "pirate patch" effect -- experimenting it seemed that you had to tilt your head to the right 90 degrees and then back another 20 degrees to get the darkest result -- maybe that is from manufacturing sloppiness

The most recent movie I seen in 3D was 3D rerelease of Titanic
The last film I seen before the 3D rerelease of Titanic was The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water in 3D.

I've been having trouble with RealD 3D glasses. When I wore them to Avatar 2, the left side had a dark shadow. I can barely see out of that side. I thought it might be a problem with my vision, but I went for a second time to view Avatar 2 and same thing happened with 3 different glasses that I tried. I even tried flipping the glasses upside down so I was viewing the left lens through my right eye and sure enough, that side had a dark shadow.

I lost an eye so I can't watch 3d movies :(

So why doesn’t it work at the cinema 😢😢😢

It doesn't really work for me I just don't see the 3d at the theater but it just makes everything darker

I am going to be watching the new Jurassic World in RealD. I am so excited. I was thinking of getting it in Cinemark XD, but I decided to change things up. Plus, our family has not seen a 3D movie in ages.

Where can I buy the lens material? I would like to make large glasses to fit over my prescription glasses.

RealD uses a single projector which shows two angles at alternating times hence reducing the quality. Imax is better cuz it uses 2 projectors, so 0% effect in quality.

So it’s completely useless to keep them...

So basically bringing the 3d glasses from the theater means nothing unless you have a screen projector that filters the Lightwave at 144 frame rate. Dang it...

I'm actually wearing a pair of polarized 3D glasses... none of the videos I watch give the same effect...
