I thouh so brilliant now started learn kind of motivation
ОтветитьSpeaking Expert starts. Uses two "aahm" within the first 10 seconds... 😂😅
ОтветитьDude, you have consistently dope content.
ОтветитьWhat about making room for individuals with autism and adhd... most have to look away to be able to focus on what someone is saying. Everything isn't linear. Overall, I really enjoyed this episode. 🙏💙
ОтветитьRecently, I read an interesting book that partially focused on breathing. It emphasized that breathing should be full, meaning we should breathe using both the stomach and the chest simultaneously.
ОтветитьI love your intro music !!! It’s great.
ОтветитьOk can anyone explain what he means when at the start he states " I hope no one is listening...."
ОтветитьThank you 🙏🏻👏👏👏👏
ОтветитьAlso important what you are talking about. If you talk stuff in which no one is interested, regardless of your efforts of speaking, you will not be heard. When you hear people saying to you "but she/he is not listening" you can ask them back "but have you tried to say anything interesting?" It might sound rude in that moment, but unfortunately this is what's all about to being heard. But he said couple of things which made me lough, genuinely, some good come backs.
ОтветитьI enjoyed this. Very interesting.
ОтветитьI HATE these constant negative comments about education..that they dont teach this and that. First of all, where is parental responsibility? But most of all, plenty of schools teach speaking! But just to sound educated and informed people will spread misinformation just to get attention. You lost me in the first few seconds.
ОтветитьThe entire thing multiple times…so informative, so good 🫶🏾💕
ОтветитьVery interesting conversation
ОтветитьBreathe deep. Jaw, larynx , body fusion.
ОтветитьAmazing episode 🖤
ОтветитьThanks to this guy, I have realized my negativity bias
Ответить"Uncomfortable is a call for assessment" Wow, love it. From here on I will look into why I don't listen to those who are way off from my values and principles. Thank you for interviewing him, Stephen.
Ответитьbeach i ceo
ОтветитьI do yoga and it does help me a lot to focus on my breathing. It helps tremendously!
ОтветитьJulian Treasure is the best speaker I’ve ever heard! Tremendously listenable!
Ответить🌸
ОтветитьWhat about the siloed people who took the covid vaccine and "trusted the science" who still need to feel like they are right. A casual dig at "nutty conspiracy theorists" is just as much a part of the problem. Do you think I enjoy being right when I see people dropping like flies and yet still no accountability from pharmaceutical companies to investigate their part in the drastic rise in excess mortality? Of course not.
ОтветитьThe saying the fish rots from the head down applies here. So all it takes is a bad boss and it all rots! Just retired from a horribly toxic workplace. Everyone has to find a way to jump ship once toxicity is apparent. Good luck!
ОтветитьTake a deep breath
1. Inhale from and exhale from mouth like blast
it always makes me laugh how you keep asking us to subscribe than you end it with “ I hope no body is listening but if you are keep it to yourself “ how contradicting !!
ОтветитьCan you edit this down to 5 usable minutes?
ОтветитьSo I guess you would not have Lex Fridman on since he talks like a robot? Yet millions listen to him.
ОтветитьBrilliant episode, with both male voices sounding so beautiful!!!! Makes me wish I was there in a third chair, taking part in both the listening and communicating.
ОтветитьOf course we teach speaking and listening skills in school. Teachers hone in on these skills from the start of school (early years) and through their educational life!! The national curriculum is underpinned by speaking and listening skills. What is he saying, ' we don't teach these key skills in schools'.
ОтветитьLoved THIS.
ОтветитьTnx🎉
ОтветитьWhen I was in graduate school, I got high critique on my pleasant speaking voice. Not so much on content. For ten years, I had a job at a major airline as a telephone reservation agt. I didnt get a lot of raises, because I took too long in calls trying to find the cheapest fare. But, I got many, many written compliments, and guess what else- my lovely accent and pleasing voice. NOW, my unfortunate companion of 37 miserable yrs, is always calling out "FINISH A SENTENCE!!" This a freaking tool to get me off, because I can NEVER regain what I was excitedly talking about. At 74 yrs of age, I Don't think Im going to change that. It's just a hater telling me, "your voice is irritating " I'm sorry I put this comment In here, but to confirm how an interesting voice is important if one wants to be heard. Me, I'm constantly being talked over. GEEZ GIRL. GET OUT U SAY.
ОтветитьGreat guest!
Thank you for such a quality content!
Incredible content, again!
ОтветитьI ended up hear as someone who doesn't feel heard (and works extraordinarily hard to listen). At times I've felt selfish wanting to be heard, but when says that it's actually a need to be heard, that really struck home.
ОтветитьWow he really aged after his TED talk. He looks 20 years older in a good way. Like a well aged wine
ОтветитьWHAT?! Broccoli is so fking good I eat bowls for days & months. Just add sesame oil & garlic salt. McDs is disgusting in comparison, leaves me feeling ill, messes with my digestion, and isn't at all filling.
I GET EXCITED FOR BROCCOLI, MY DUDE!!
❤❤❤
ОтветитьAbsorbing episode!
Thank you for sharing.
An aside... Simon and Julian would be a fantastic connect given their mutual fascination with listening and human connection :)
Stop asking for everybody to subscribe, it makes me avoid listening to this.
ОтветитьI try to be intentional about listening, especially because I know all too well what it feels like not to be truly heard. I am usually intentional about being present, putting away distractions, summarizing or asking clarifying questions. But I can certainly improve my listening by not trying to formulate responses while someone else is talking.
ОтветитьNonsense and waste of Time
ОтветитьI think we have a bias due to social media where we always need "excitement". That's why so many social media videos have people being a bit "extra" in their delivery. I think we need to have some monotony at times for balance of life
ОтветитьI will literally turn off anything in which anyone is speaking with vocal fry. It makes me want to poke my eardrums out.
ОтветитьThank you all for watching, if you could do me a favour, hit subscribe and turn notifications on it helps us more than you know 🙏🏻 currently we have 74% of regular viewers than haven’t subscribed 😅 appreciate you all.
