What stupid woman… letting herself to be played like that…. She was not very clever for being an attorney…
ОтветитьWonderful movie with great actors. For me, it was a very special movie as Arthur Howard, the younger brother of Leslie Howard, was playing the part of the first witness, Mr Vaughan in this movie. It was arranged for me to meet Arthur in 1966, and being young I was terrified of meeting a stage and film actor for the first time. I was worried as to what to say to this person if I was able to say anything, but my worries were put aside because after less than 5 minutes he had me talking about myself and nothing could have stopped me. You see, I was very timid and shy in those days, and this wonderful person was able to relax me and stop being frightened. Thank you Arthur for that. May you RIP.
ОтветитьGood courthouse drama. More intriguing question is how did a smart and intelligent lady fall for such a low-life character?
ОтветитьWhat a charming film. Thank you.
ОтветитьRosamund John is always a pleasure. She had a unique style of her own, wonderfully measured and stylized. Hugh Sinclair I enjoyed very much in Circle of Danger, and he is no disappointment here.
ОтветитьA really good film. Brenda de Banzie is very elegant
ОтветитьThe highlight of the film is the all-round villainy of the Guy character. A stupendous piece of acting. That said, what baffled me was how Anne could at all have had any kind of relationship with such a character in the past, a man twice her age with teeth about to fall off, a man who reeks of villainy in body, speech and soul!
ОтветитьNot bad at all. I'll never let a man sleep on my couch!
ОтветитьOne of the bit parts, the officer at the remand cell, was Harry H. Corbett better know for his role as Harold Steptoe in Steptoe and Son.
ОтветитьAll on all, general publick was betrer off without Ann in the court. Lack of reasoning is one (she could have realized that she did not know if he was wondering around) and questionnable ethics was another reason - why would you take a case defending your former lover and hope nobody wouild figure it out?
Ответитьterrible print & sound .. too bad ...
Ответитьi love these old British courtroom movies 🎥❤️
Ответитьguy and his bad teeth...how can someone be and actor and appear in films with rotten teeth?
ОтветитьSomeone plz explain the story to me. Who was the murderer
Ответитьwhat a plodding annoying flick. sets back women barristers a half century. the only notable performance is Guy Middleton as the... jerk. the wigs are cute though.
ОтветитьHer former boyfriend is developing a Vampire tooth on his right side of the mouth 😮
ОтветитьExcellent movie thank you
ОтветитьI love the Ending!
Flimsy Alibi!
Ransome used her knowing he'd have a perfect alibi. She'd let him stay while she locked herself in her room all night! And the Prosecution didn't cross- examine him?
The charges were dropped! That means Ransome can be Tried on New Evidence! There was no Jury Conviction or Aquittal meaning No Double Jeaprody.
Ignorance of the Law is no excuse for an Idiot and a Dope!
Ransome just had to go rub it in the Prosecutors face ...And get himself a Brand New Trial
With a crappy solicitor
Very disappointing film
ОтветитьIt looks like her breasts grew cabbages or rather cabbage roses.
ОтветитьI started to watch the movie because it had the great Brenda de Banzie. And I just fast forwarded until she was on screen.
Brenda de Benzie is one of the greatest actresses ever on film. And she did not disappoint. Everyone else, except the villain, was like milquetoast. Boring as heck.
He was a Cad, an Absolute Cad ‼️‼️😄😄💯
ОтветитьAt 43.34 is actor Arthur Howard, the younger brother of the more-famous pre-war actor/producer Leslie Howard.
Minor actor Harry H. Corbett can be seen as a prison-warder at 1.01: Corbett later hit the big-time in 1960s/'70s television comedy.
That young Alan character turned up in Coronation Street about thirty years later as one of Elsie Tanners playthings - he still had the stiff upper lip 1950s style of acting like in this film
ОтветитьThe sound is "fuzzy". Unless it's my phone, which had perfect sound as late as last night! ????
ОтветитьThe dress is hilarious. It seems they are trying to enhance her breasts
ОтветитьRate 6.4
Noir
Implausibly Good going.
ОтветитьThank you for posting! Very good! Blacks and Whites are the best. ♥️♥️♥️
ОтветитьAn enjoyable film with the twist at the end. Thanks for the upload.
ОтветитьArthur Howard, bro of Leslie and uncle of Ronald.
ОтветитьTerence Longdon,Carryon Nurse and tvs Gary Halliday
ОтветитьThe lady that talks to Rosamund John after 5 mins was a car mechanic in A Canterbury Tale.
Ответитьbad audio
ОтветитьAnd there as a prison guard near the end was Harry H Corbett, ( Harold Steptoe) not quite the "English Marlon Brando" back then.
ОтветитьThese British movies are most enjoyable. Interesting plots and good acting. Bravo to the Brits.
ОтветитьI wonder what kind of a life it is to just drift. No focus, no ambition. Except for my family my career was the most important thing in my life. 50 yrs Home Builder.
ОтветитьShe's a very lovely woman. I miss the days when women too the time make themselves presentable like this woman. Now days woman don't take the time to look lovely.
ОтветитьBeautiful story in all Sense ❤
ОтветитьLove Rosamund John. So gentle and elegant.
ОтветитьSorry, but I was rather disappointed. Especially after reading the glowing remarks previously made by earlier viewes. Oh well, we each have our likes. 🙂
ОтветитьNever look back our memories help us look back for good reasons doesn't make sense not to look back
ОтветитьCrikey, bet you couldn't get anywhere without the right accent in those days. 1952 eh, I was lucky - that's when I was born and my lot went on to change an awful lot of things:) Thanks for a flash of the past!
ОтветитьI suppose the film was made before the previous monarch died: wouldn't she have been a QC in '52?
ОтветитьI was certainly not disappointed when I chose to see this film.
ОтветитьSuicide or murder - and innocent goodness of a believing friend - and the best and most gentlemanly courtroom drama...Wow! Great film. Please watch it . And thanks for uploading. People from the older generation, like me, may wonder at the crass, vulgar way in which unnecessary details are elicited these days in cases involving well known figures, in comparison to getting to the truth with intelligence, manners and respectability...
ОтветитьThat is the ugliest dress!
ОтветитьWhat an enjoyable film! Engaging storyline, beautiful production, a fine script, what a gem! Thank you so very much for this upload!
ОтветитьExcellent choice in your decision to upload this dramatic film!
ОтветитьDelicious...
