I have two kicker compR’s 12’s but there dvc 2ohm and my finale ohm load is 2 running a hifonix Zeus 1800.1 , so I was thinking of running two kicker comp 15’s at 1ohm but idk if it could take the power

I used to use Sony headphones from Walmart, they were like 20$ but broke easy, they were like these headphones I used from Bernie's guitars in Redding California, but they didn't have a huge magnet

I can definitely say from experience that smaller subs can hit hard in the right box. I had a friend that had 2 10"s in a bandpass box in the back of a Mitsubishi Mirage coupe. Man, I don't know what kind of subs she had, but that system was banging the hell out of that car. If I put another system in my own ride, I wouldn't hesitate to go with a couple of 10"s for sure.

Hi. I have a question/request thats if you haven't done it already. I want to do a system in my car that has 2 amps. 1 amp for the interior and 1 for the sub. It's a 10" 1000 watt sub in a plexiglass box w/ a 1000 watt amp. As for the other amp I have a 350 or 500 watt amp for the interior, how should I go about installing it??? To bad subs need a certain size box volume. So yeah you could fit 3 10in subs in a 2 cube box. But if each sub needs 1.5 cube it will sound like crap. So 1 12in sub with a 2 cube box would sound better, and is a cheaper option.

I could write a few things that prove that what so many need is clearly NOT an enclosure with the biggest woofer inside to obtain a frequency close from 5Hz no matter the impedance!

For rock and all of it's genres, multiple smaller speakers are the way to go... essentially, you want instant, clean hit from the kick drum.

Got a good deal recently from a friend on a 8 inch sundown in a custom ported box tuned to 35hz and bought a walmart power acoustik amp. It has the cleanest bass I've ever heard from any sub I've ever had even cranked to high volume 85-90% and has no distortion what so ever. I highly recommend sundown, little on the expensive side but totally worth it.

However you bring in more noise cancelation. Also there is not enough space for the enclosure, maybe a 12 ported can be controlled better and require less power from the amp putting less stress on the voltage from the alternator to run at ample level for the amps damping factor not to affected

I've ran 10's, 12's, 15's and 18's. Sure 18 was when I was doing comps but overall, I liked the 10's the most.

Been thinking if someone already tried mounting a subwoofer outside there trunk so no need to make a box for it..🤔🤔🤔

And if you need more air for the bass why not direct it outside your car or make independent bass port holes that pointing downward the ground for 360 sound profile.🤔🤔🤔

I know there are people here that are going to do whatever they believe is best. In many cases, people will do what they have convinced themselves is right even after it is proven to them that they are wrong. It's a weird thing, but it happens all the time. People buy with their eyes. To combat this, people need to do a blind test. Listen to all different sizes and brands without seeing them. They will be surprised what they pick.

I've always preferred 10s over 12s. To me they utilize power and space better with a tighter punch

Sorry, this vid just came up in my timeline. 35ish years ago, I was at a 'car stereo competition' as a spectator. There was a guy with a regular two seat cab pick up truck. In the narrow space between the back wall of the cab and the back of the seats, there was a speaker box. The top couldn't have been more than 6"s wide. On the top were 6-8 tiny little 4" speakers poking out. To this day, I can't for the life of me understand how those little speakers produce sooooo much bass! This truck absolutely thumped!!!

So. I'm wanting to just add a bit of bass, not alot, to my 2014 Silverado crew cab. I want to go with a budget friendly build and do the Skar sdr-10-d2 and the 800.1 mono block amp. But, I want the best out of the enclosure. I want to replace my center console with the box but be able to still mount my storage tray, drink holder, and cushioned armrest on top of it. How in the world do I go about designing the box????

I had two 10 inch JL Audio subs. They hit plenty hard.

I have ran 10's for years. I listen to a wide range of music, and have never felt left wanton for anything more. From Kanye to Meshuggah they gave me the sound I was after.
In my last install (2014 F-150 SCREW) I ran a pair of JL 10w0-4 in a downfire and ported box. It gave me all that great low end, without washing out the mids and highs. Everything was ran on a 5 channel amp (XD700/5v2). I have since sold that truck, but will be putting the same amp, subs and speakers in my new truck.

Just to get a even resolution of sound, just run 2 12" subs and 1 15" in a horn box with pillow duff to reduce the vibration and you have the mids and a punch.
