Worked on iPhone to reduce, I gained 2.9G on the iPad though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ . Think it’s also important to inform people what deleting Safari search history will do. It deleted 14 years of history on my Mac - I guess the setting carries across to all devices in the Apple ID?? I didn’t want to delete all my history on the Mac!

Umm… thanks?! I had 41 gb on a year old tablet and I tried deleting some things due to this video and it actually went up 2 gb until i did the restart step with the languages… and now it says I have 0?! Don’t know if I’m hacked or something, but thanks if this is real!

If you are not running out of storage, who cares?
Why do people even buy new phones if they are just going to disable everything?

THIS WAS SO HELPFUL!! So, my iPad storage was 118 / 127 and the thing that was mostly taking up the space was system data! It took up around 70 GB, and after doing stuff from the video, my storage is now 63 / 127. Thank you :))

Hey Guys AWESOME video, but didn’t You know that You can swipe from the left edge of the screen to the right, to go back in the settings if You are deep in a submenu, instead of tapping the back button a thousand (strong exaggeration) times.

The most important, and missed tip, is whatsapp back-up. My system was 20gb. Whatsapp back-up with videos was 9gb. Total 29gb between them. I did a full iPhone backup on PC that could restore these videos/pics if ever wanted to. Took half day and went through my data in all chats. Deleted 8gb of storage in whatsapp. Then, I pressed to back-up data again in whatsapp. SYSTEM STORAGE WENT DOWN BY THE SAME AMOUNT! So you save double when making sure whatsapp storage as little as possible.

Actually, if you go to settings, then to general time and date, turn off automatic time and date, set your phone back three years, go back to your home screen turn off your phone, reboot your phone go back to settings into general to time and date. Turn on automatic time and date again go back to iPhone storage you will see you will clear out some of your system data. It’s a neat little trick. I’ve tried it on my iPhone 11 and I am running iOS 17.1 and it works doesn’t get rid of all of it, but it does eliminate, some of it

When I cleared the settings for Safari, it went from 6.6gb to 1.7gb! Thanks! I’ll try to remember to do that once in awhile!

My data actually raised while doing these.

There's one problem NO ONE seems to be able to answer. Photos App. I have 12 photos on my entire phone but Photos app takes up 18.19GB (GIGAbytes). All message images are deleted, etc, etc. The next closest app takes up 1.1GB. How is this even possible?

There should be less than 1GB but Photos app is so aggravating, I want to reach in my phone and rip out all the chips and circuits. PLEASE help us figure this out. Don't waste time telling us about turning on iCloud storage, deleting photos from messages, attachments, turning off Memories and Events in Photos. All those are deleted and turned off. iCloud will only save less than 1GB for me. The background data will not go away. I'm getting "Storage Almost Full" alert every other day.

The one thing I haven't tried yet that is my last hope is restoring from a backup from iTunes. Is there any secret way to delete Photos app and reinstall it?

I have been doing each step to aid in my phone memory, step by step. I have yet to see a difference. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

@PayetteForward, I tried to do everything I could to free up storage space and now the battery is draining and the homescreen status icons show the spinning network activity all the time. What can I do to stop it? I've turned background data refresh off. The battery use screen shows facebook using 32% and settings 29%. The battery health shows 100% (it's a new battery). I have a iphone 6s running ios 15.7.9. Thank you for any tips.
