ОтветитьCreating the table directly in the database and then importing it to the Visual Studio project makes the table appear in a nice folder structure (schema name/Tables/table name as shown in the video). I'm surprised to see that there apparently is no simple way of making getting this folder structure directly from Visual Studio. If I for instance would add a new view in the database, I would have to create the dbo/Views folder manually and then place the view there to keep an organized folder structure. And stuff like deployment scripts have no standard designated folder to be placed in. As a long time SQL Server developer - but a newcomer to the Visual Studio database projects - this seems like an annoying setback.
I've googled in search for extensions or templates that mitigate the lack of folder structure in the Visual Studio database project - but has so far found nothing apart from manual descriptions for creating the folder structure - and the option to import an readymade database and work from there.
If you or any other readers have better suggestions, please let me know. I have a simple template db made with one table, one view, one function and one stored procedure - so my current workaround is to import the template db and then delete the template objects but keep the folders. But it would be so much better if VS could simply create a best practice folder structure when I create a new database project (or offer to add the specific folder when I add a new item that "belongs" in a designated folder).
Thanks for this great tutorial. Why is it necessary to publish the database as in the latter part of the tutorial?
ОтветитьHello, how can I do the process in the opposite way, a change made in the database is reflected in the visual project? How do I publish the change in the opposite way, taking into account that the project is already created, thanks
Ответить1. learn english
2. tell at least what the hell are you doing instead of just clicking buttons and saying what theres written on the f***** buttons, we can read
I was able to import from visual studio. I then went into the database, added a table, went back to visual studio, right clicked project, but the database was now greyed out.
ОтветитьHey there, keep up the great work in your channel.
I have only a general enquiry as a newbie sql learner.
Could i channel shopify live data into an sql application?(This should be an application developed for a company of 50 employees mainly for the sake of generating reports and analytics))
Is this an easy process to undertake as a sql beginner? What should i keep in mind
and what are the tools or softwares that i should work with right from the beginning.
For notice, I made my mind to work with microsoft sql server, also our company has a dedicated server.
Thanks for taking care of my enquiry.
you talk like a roadman
