The 4 going for cosmetic surgery, were doing some business, that a cartel didn't like. Only drive in Mexico during daylight, I have driven much of it, Sonora was more dangerous than Sinaloa, Sonorans tend to be antiwhite-ists, but not Sinaloans.

The most dangerous thing when travelling is yourself, make foolish decisions get drunk beyond comprehension and then see what happens LOL I’ve been to Mexico 45 times and never once felt unsafe . I returned from Zipolite a few weeks ago and that by far was the safest town in Mexico I’ve ever been to. Use your brain when travelling and you will be safe.

The people you mentioned that went to a Mexican border town from S Carolina to get a “tummy tuck” were actually found to be there for drugs. Which is important to note, because that’s one of the top reasons people find trouble in Mexico. So, don’t look for drugs, buy drugs or talk to anyone about drugs, stay in the tourist areas, and you’ll be 100% fine.

Never drive by car?? I’ve driven 100’s of times in several places in Mexico even crashed on a road in Tijuana and stranded. I think this video is a bit exaggerated about NEVER drive in Mexico.. if you go looking for trouble you’re probably going to find it. I drove the entire island in a car rental.. driven to tulum and into secluded cenote area and I think it’s worse in LA.

Trying to compare crime in Cancun vs crime in major US cities is absurd. If we're planning a trip to Cancun, is it reassuring for us to know that Cancun is less violent than Chicago? Who cares? That's not what we think about when choosing a holiday. The bottom line is that when we plan a relaxing Caribbean vacation we don't want to have cartel violence in the back of our minds.

I feel safer there, than most places in the USA. Just got back from 5 weeks in the Riviera Maya. Only place I felt it a little, is the cartel infested Tulum area. Even there I wasn’t worried about myself or family, just having my car broke into. The indigenous people, are among the sweetest people on the planet.

Anyone who thinks Mexico is more dangerous than the big cities of the USA is paying no attention to anything in the world. After living in New York, few places strike you as more dangerous than what you’re used to.

They didn’t go for a tummy tuck. They tried to buy drugs from the cartel across the border from Brownsville TX. The cartel ended up killing their own soldiers that attacked and killed the Americans and put them on display with an apology.

I love the way that you threw Sinaloa under the bus. I live in Mazatlán and it’s a very safe city in Sinaloa. A lot of the violence has occurred in Culiacán Sinaloa which is two and a half hour drive away but the whole state gets tarred by the same brush.

I would only call it unsafe if you’re not aware of your surroundings, and not smart about staying in the tourist areas. Like, don’t go wandering around outside the tourist areas at night. I would agree that America is more dangerous. I feel less safe in my own city than I ever have traveling in other places.

I travel and am going somewhere all the time. I’ve been told a million times by people that I shouldn’t go somewhere because it’s “unsafe.” After each trip I come back fine and don’t see what they’re saying. I’ve also noticed that those people sit home all the time, so there’s no way they can know. They just rather put me down than make changes in their own life.

As a person who does high end security for a living and has for 30 years I think you are doing a disservice by saying these areas are safe. Comparing them to Chicago isn't really helping your argument as Chicago isn't safe either. Mexico is a naco state run by corrupt politicians corrupt police and the cartels paying them all, most of the crime isn't even reported in Mexico because very few cartel members ever get arrested. I like how you bring up the story of 8 people found dead in Cancun but then say we don't know if they were tourists, that was very funny. Then you make it worse by saying it' even ok to walk around. While it may be OK security is all about mitigating risks, going to an all inclusive resort and never leaving is much safer then leaving it to walk around the town for example. You only bring up murder but there are many more crimes then that, also for every article you want to show it is safe I can show an article of people being arrested and harassed by corrupt police looking for bribes. I would never let my kids go to spring break in Mexico there are so many better options. I understand people want cheap vactions or kids want to drink at 18 but my advice is if you do never leave the resort and only have the resort do the transport to and from the airport.

I’ve vacation Riva Maya, playa Del Carmen .Cancun , for many years. I’ll say Mexican people are really hospitable . I’ve been treated better in Mexico than all the other countries vaccinated. I must say riviera maya area very quiet peaceful. 1 hr away. Actually I ran a 5 k race at the resort grounds that was taken place, how large it is . All I’ll hear is the police are very corrupt bribery , talking to people .

I live outside of Philly in the bubs. I cant tell you that when I travel to Cancun, it is MUCH safer than going to Philly at any part of the day. I have a 4yr old and my wife's parents are going nuts on us because we are going to Hilton Tulum in May. We have a private shuttle, and its also not my first rodeo at Cancun. Meanwhile, we live near Philly and New York.... The mexican people I have interacted with on my travels there have been some of the nicest people I have ever encountered. I cannot say the same thing about some of my fellow Americans...

I think you hear more about issues in Mexico because there are so many more tourists going there than to other warm destinations so it stands to reason that more instances will occur but that doesn't necessarily mean it's less safe. For instance tourist visits to Mexico are around 5 times more than to DR. so if the 'risk' is equal in both countries on average you will have 5 times more instances of problems in Mexico. Most often people who get into dangerous situation its because they put themselves into dangerous situations.
