I can never understand how Cuba Gooding Jr got a Razzie nomination for this role in this movie he was in my personal opinion and I know I’m not alone the best thing in this movie and he really played this character with heart and I absolute am blown away by his performance. It reminded me somewhat of Leonardo DiCaprio in what’s eating, Gilbert grape and Sean Penn and I am Sam. He should’ve gotten an Oscar nomination for this role in my personal opinion. I don’t know why he got nominated for a Razzie for this movie at all. This is such an underrated movie and I love it.

I just watched this in 2023 and I'm going to tell you this is not a bad movie at all actually it's a very good movie it's funny sad and good at the same time Coach Harold was the man If you watched the movie he told his daughter the reason why he's looking after radio what a great part of the movie that was , I have to give this movie a 8 out of a 10 for real for real it's sort of like Forrest Gump but Forest Gump was better than this but this is not a bad movie at all !!! Radio became a star in that town and it's a true story so makes it even better we need more people regardless of race like coach Harold Jones the world would be a better place trust me!!!

Being bullied in school is terrible, I have experienced things no one ever should like getting my pants taken off and shoved down a pile of dung, had to walk home without pants, the shame was unbearable and the bullying stretched on for about 3 years. I was one of those kids with a "kick me" sign on my back, too fragile and unable to withstand.

Later on in life I found out that I didn´t actually suffer the worst, the bully who all of a sudden becomes human regretting his past transgressions might just end up far worse than you might imagine when there is no forgiveness to be had. I moved on when I started college but didn´t forgive, when I finally wanted to let things go it was too late.

I remember watching this film with my mom as a teenager at the time. For one, knowing that the real-life guy. James Robert "Radio" Kennedy. On one hand, part of me felt like I didn't know if I could understand him because I felt like I didn't know enough about him or anyone like him to fully understand him. When I was a kid or teenager growing up. I've known ten people that were having a disability like Radio or they just had a disability of their own that I think they could relate to him in some way. Out of the ten people I knew who had disability like that, some had more of a minor disability, the others, theirs was a bit more severe. I did have one bad experience with one of them but I think it was because this one person was lacking a positive role model in his life and this one I had a bad experience with. I regret any negativity I had with him because he didn't know what he was doing and I regret my negative actions towards him ( the only thing that happened was they had me him sit elsewhere in the class room ) but still, I regret my negative actions back then. So many times I wished I understood people like them a bit more because any bad experience they would have could affect them for life like how a bad experience with flying on a plane can make you afraid of heights or afraid of flying. A couple of days ago. I wanted to look up the real-life man that this film based the life off of and I was heartbroken to learn that James Robert "Radio" Kennedy had passed on in late 2019 at the age of 73. He was currently living with one of his brothers and his niece at the time. Looking back at this film. I look back on a lot of things and the one thing I want to do differently is have a better understanding for people like Radio back when I was a kid or teenager growing up because at the time, I didn't understand anything involving these people but I think now I'm beginning to understand them or at least I'm getting a better understanding. A few days ago I learned that the real-life man had passed on and went with God. James Robert "Radio" Kennedy had lived a tough life but thanks to a kind man and his actions. Everything changed, but everything changed not just for him but for the people around him. Even though Radio needed kind people like those he met. Those people he met also needed him to change them for the better. But I believe that when Radio was experiencing positive changes in his life and those around him experiencing the positive changes in their lives because they got to know him. I do believe that during those positive life changing moments that Radio's spirit was flying and his heart was open. My only wish is that we have more people to understand others who are like Radio because if we have more kind and understanding people in this world who can understand and bring a change for the better for people like Radio. Then this world we live in can feel a bit more like a heaven on earth. The day I found out that Radio passed on a few years back. I looked up at the sky and said "God, rest Radio's soul as he's been through a lot in life. I know you've reunited him with his mother"
