Thank you for sharing this wonderful documentary. The Russian people were fierce and determined. Their bravery saved the world a life under dictatorship. They did so at great expense.

The Russians have no problems talking about their embarrassing military screw-ups from the past. Imagine the Brits admitting even the possibility that their miracle at Dunkirk was not so much due to their infallible valor and togetherness, but instead allowed by Hitler who still had a boner for them and preferred to rule together.

A really biased documentary....

A sober but objective and true narration of the brutal war that Nazis and fascists declared against the whole world between 1925 and 1945. In these marathon documentaries that extend to about 15 hours of retellings of the war, one can get a fair description of all the important elements that got both Nazis and fascists defeated. No special stories about the Jewish suffering that dominates other descriptions with the theme of World War II. No Jewish monopoly of suffering in these documentaries. Here the suffering of all the peoples due to the war is told and noticed. In addition, one gets a fairer account of the Red Army's heroic and resolute effort to defeat German Nazism and Japanese fascism.

I grew up in 70s and 80s during cold war so I was never taught about the Eastern front
Everything I know now is from research and great documentary s like this.

Army Group North should have gone to Stalingrad (for the Volga cutoff ) from Day 1 - June 22nd 1941. They lost the entire war due to ignorance, screw Leningrad ... was no oil there, duh ...
