I don't care how long it would have been. They took out the best parts. The parts that make the movie make sense. I knew something was missing about that movie.

Basic story-writing and proof-reading take out this kind of insignificant or relevant to a different story stuff. Going by the comments, people want more soap opera and 'family' explanations for things. NOONE mentions the idiocy of the crew in containment procedures and all. I would've gone nowhere with them.

The opening scene with Engineers and cup of goo (where he dies). What does it depict: 1) successful seeding a life 2) attempt to create Xenomorph 3) attempt to create human?
As per Bible (and Bible references are all over the movie) God created us it his own image and likeness. So does it mean that we are Engineers? Genetically modified but still very close to them
Seeding a life? Nah. They are our creators. Meaning when they created humankind there were life on our planet. Complex life
They tried to create Xenomorph. Ritual-like gathering tells us that this is no experiment or scientific test. I like this one

I've always loved Prometheus even though it seemed like it was missing a lot and now we know why. It could have been so much better.

Dude the Engineers are the most important thing the original space jockey has left me pondering for decades and the hope to finally understand them had me so excited and turned into a even bigger tease...this movie and it's sequel were capable of such great things. They had actors, the director, the budget, man it could of been great, all the fans wanted was origin story, every one has seen every type of xenomorph again and again, it's played out bring us to something more substantial

The clip of the captain saying he doesn’t care about the purpose of the mission, is revealed in so many words, in the final cut. Volcanos avoided during landing were unnecessary. The 2,000 y/o carbon reading of sampled from the dead engineers a referral to the time of Christ. It suggested to me that engineers introduced Jesus Christ as a last chance for humanity before reintroducing the genetic on Earth.

However, I find the edit of father-daughter scenes a detriment to character development.

I'm always excited to see these vids. Also, I'm glad Shaw's character was killed off quick. Rapace (not her real name--so she thought herself a raptor; claims gypsyhood b/c her grandpa "might have been a gypsy" too) is not just unlikable, but her woke Hollywood killed the faith of the role in the first place. Good riddance.

Always felt the movie was lacking 'something '; it was definitely many of these scenes that could have added a great deal of depth and richness. Sad they were left out

I still feel like the Octo-tendril alien was saving Shaw like how Sigourney Weaver was saved by her own 'Baby' in her movie. But, maybe that's just me trying to connect the series in that sense.😅
