DAKOTA!!! i just got On Sun Swallowing and i devoured it within an hour of receiving it and have read it twice more since. as a teenage girl on a (hopefully) similar path as you, i related to it so much and i weeped at several poems. your poetry and the content
you create is such an inspiration to me and there is no way to properly thank you. I hope to submit my poetry to Nowhere Girl Collective soon!!

I actually learned about surrealism in the context of theatre in university a few weeks ago and i'm super interested in avantgarde movements so this feels so special to me💌

AH yes. Tuesdays usually suck & are slow and boring, so a new video by Lady Dakota is wonderful for passing time.
I've also been getting into poetry recently after so long of thinking being able to understand it was far out of my grasp, so I think this is a sign for me to buy a book of Elizabeth Bishop's poems.

Listening to you read poetry is a certain kind of wonderful I can’t quiet out into words. You read in this way that feels like tumbling down a hill, the way you sort of move like rushing water through a piece so the lines all blur together rather than leaving pauses to dictate punctuation. It makes me want to write something that reads like tumbling down a hill!

Please, if you get the time, read Kierkegaard’s “Either/Or”. It’s an odd and obscure book with purpose. In it are details about the life of an aesthete and the life of a bourgeois judge. The whole book forces you to decide what to think of it for yourself, so I can’t really explain further. If you’re in for a longer read, I highly recommend it. :) Maybe existentialism calls to you.

Hi, I like surrealism (in case the name didn’t give it away lmfao) and I think we’re currently going through a 2nd surrealist wave right now out of pure necessity. There’s a ton of writers on Substack writing some incredibly beautiful surrealist poetry and prose (mine is called Poetic Delirium if anyone’s interested I’m sorry for plugging my writing im sorry ew I hate doing this but it’s relevant right?)

my friend found a super obscure book of the writings of leonor finí, she's mostly known for her paintings but that book has some hypnotic surrealist poetry.
