5 Cruises for Solo Travelers | Solo Cruiser | Cruise Tips

Virgin is excellent for solo travelers, they have solo get together's where I met quite a few solo travelers, there was about 30 in attendance. 4 women and I did dinners/an excursions etc. Celebrity also has solo nights, but hardly anyone in attendance when I was there, two women and I met and had drinks on a few nights.I'm gay so women and I click well..lol

Like 95% of the NCL clips weren’t even the studio rooms or their amenities, just regular staterooms and the main buffet 😂

This has very much an American bias and apart from Cunard does not mention any British cruise lines. Marella put on activities for single travellers so that they can meet other solos. P+O which I have yet to sample do likewise. What I am looking forward to is the tradition dining which means that I can meet others each evening to discuss the day. Have chosen to go on a table of 8.

Royal is simply horrible for solo cruisers. Royal does not keep track of or recognize solo travelers. I strongly object to your recommendation of Royal Caribbean for solo cruisers. I just sailed (March 17, 2023) Royal's Navigator of the Seas as a solo traveler. The Only offering to solo cruisers was a Self Led 30 minute gathering at the R Bar at 8PM each night. The MDR was a disaster. My 3 requests to be seated with other solo travelers were ignored. I made these requests at the time of booking (and my request was on my reservation). Secondly, the MDR was my first stop in the late morning shortly after boarding to reiterate my request, and lastly, upon arrival at the MDR the first night. Worse, I was seated with a family of 7 and 1 other couple made up the table of 10. Eventually, I gave up and sat by myself.

I would add Oceania. They also have a Social Hostess who invited solo travelers to get together for cocktails and/or dinner. Three are also craft-type activities for the ladies on sea days. Easy go be seated at a sharing table also, and smaller ships make it easy to meet other people. Their newest ship, the Vista, added a few solo cabins.

It is cheaper to pay double occupancy on an interior cabin compared to a solo room. Plus the interior offers more square footage, a lot more.

100 sq ft is 10ft x 10ft . That's the size of my bathroom. Seems small for a room.

You also have Holland America new ships offering solo ocean view cabins on their new ships.

Why don't creators sail on luxury lines like Oceania, Azamara or Regal? These cruise lines are great for mature solo travelers. I've been sailing solo for over 30 years, and don't always pay extra.

Any specific line suggestions for over 50 singles?

i would love to go on my first cruise. I thought it's only for old people, but now I'm ready 🙃 what about the Covid rules. Do they still require the useless and health hazardous vaccinations?

You seemed to show lots of cabins that weren’t the solo cabins so it was a bit misleading.

Just subscribed. Went on NCL years ago. They provide an inferior product. Went on a RCCL cruise years ago also. They also provide an inferior product. Virgin Cruises seems interesting. Took a voyage on Cunard a few years ago. Does not live up to the billing it gets. Celebrity provides a good product. Also, Princess is good, but, the single supplement is to the high side. Like the line though. We had a Princess Cruise booked when my wife passed away.
