Humans are built to be religious and have faith in something, even implicitly. Your philosophy on life is your worldview. If you need to know all the details of something to trust in, you’d never get out of bed.😂

How can u love someone that u done see or hear or thuch even tho it’s a spirit , how can you put all your love etc on a spirit and that spirit watches all the pain and suffering and can’t do nothing it’s just good it doesn’t do nothing. I mean if u love someone how can you let it die and witness it die , it just doesn’t make sense to me .

God is not a being, God is being. Love means pleasure and every living being, except humans, wants to live, takes pleasure in being.

I think it should be added in order to have a daily relationship with G-d, the One who sent G-d the Son, Son of G-d is to allow Him to peer into yourself by His word (daily reading of the scriptures) to search out all the bad residue that settled or started to settle in as a result of living in this world and our own miscalculations. His word is a mirror, to present ourselves we must allow the mirror to point out every wrinkle, stain and spot.

But if you get married, you have a real person there, someone you interact with and they respond, and you both like each other and support each other -- but if this kind of philosophical definition of God-As-Being is what God is, then how can people really pray to God? Because there is no personality there, only the fact that we exist and have imagination. How to have courage to love God-is-love? The whole idea of a person-to-person encounter with God (as per Paul Tillich in The Courage To Be) becomes nonsense, or only the realization that we talk to ourselves when we pray to God. How is making a little idol in our imagination and praying to it supposed to be what Christianity is talking about? Who is Christ, how does anyone know that he listens? We have to convince ourselves that someone is listening when we pray? Peterson is taking the existential definition of God, which is closer to Hinduism than Christianity --

Love in the English language isn’t as all encompassing as it is in Hebrew. The love we are to show is respect, dignity, behaving in a way were you treat each other as if they are yourself. Elimination of the idea there exists them and others. We are all a spark of the divine consciousness. None of us exist solely to ourselves alone. Indeed nothing exists apart from God. So that consciousness is not able to separate from the whole. So bestow loving kindness upon every single creature and indeed the whole earth for we are all connected.

Only in this body a shell wrapped up in beasts desire can mute the flame or even put it out so that you think you are not as the others. That is why we can often end up living as beasts.

So, God now is choosing only a FEW disciples, to help Him TEACH when the Kingdom of God is established ON earth, and then through their teaching the Law of God, man will learn HOW to LOVE God and Neighbor, accept the Blood Atonement for sin, and move forward to WORLD PEACE. It's a part of FAITH that has substance in the Words of God, not man. The EARTH is the reward of those SAVED from sin (lawbreaking), and not Heaven. Ultimately Heaven will move down to EARTH, without sin in it. ALL that will to find God WILL FIND Him, keep His Word and live in it, forever. The Words of God are Eternal, but not the words of man. Human reason will not FIND God - God reveals Himself to man, not the other way around. Being "born again" is to become Spirit as God IS, no longer flesh. God has no tolerance for sin, that's why He gave HIMSELF, shed HIS OWN Blood to redeem us to Himself, through His Son. So now, all men that repent of lawbreaking CAN become LIKE God is, born of the Spirit of God, with a Spiritual Body, like Christ now has, no longer human, at a resurrection FROM the dead, each in his own order, Christ FIRST. God is building a FAMILY, of sons and daughters, and He is doing it with plenty of "birth control", a few first, many later, all of whom are willing. He makes it all possible. We just CHOOSE to obey Him, from the heart.

Seriously, if you are looking for faith, this person is just full of shit, dont trust him, he is confused himself 👀. Some people need to stay in their own lane, if you are not a priest, shut your mouth, not using Christianity and preach such stupid confusing shit like this 👀. These kind of people are way more dangerous than the enermies attacking the church!

Religious "Faith"=Mind Control?

I really find all these clips about an apparently world famous college professor who seems to have missed his calling as a vicar rather fascinating. Really Mr Peterson, you would have made a fine cleryman: "Aren't we all sinners when brought yonder, before the face of God?" We probably are by the way, however cutting down on barbecueing, quitting to go on holiday five times per year, cutting down a bit on the intake of alcoholic beverages, spending less screentime on internetporn and quit taking so much refined harddope might actually provide some 'karmic relieve' here and there. Ladies and gentlemen: "Just don't!" Really, it works.

Now to this whole God-matter: I've been digging into this on-an-off for over twenty years. To me the matter is rather clear, the concept doesn't seem to be exactly what it looks like at first glance (but is a nice concept anyhow). The word 'God' is basically a highly externalized questionmark with a high degree of abstraction to some and slightly antropomorhous features to others but looking at the archeological and etymological evidence the concept seems to refer to the conflated result of two Canaatine deities that slightly lack the omniscient and omnipresent features that are attributed to him in later Abrahamic literature. What is going on then? Well, the historical region that is known as the Levant has been under the rule of different regional powers over the past millenia, most of those powers were from the Eufrates-Tigris river delta and worshipped deities that weren't spectaculairy different from the Canaanite pantheon. One power differs in this and so did (or 'does' even) their religious ideas and their believe system which involves the believe in more-or-less absolute good and evil (which is absent in polytheistic traditions like those of the ancient Egyptians of Sumerians).

A very powerfull empire that controlled a vast portion of the people on this planet for about two centuries was the Persian Achaemenid Empire, they seem to have forced a lot of their insights down the throats of the peoples who were subject to them (like everyone in the ancient Near East). This notion of absolute yet rather abstract goodness, which seems to be very appealing to many seems to be rooted in Zoroastrianism (every psychologist, philosopher and linguist knows about that tradition I suppose). To my knowledge there is no clear evidence that this binary notion existed prior to this Persian tradition. The ideas from Zoroastianism seem to have been projected onto deities from local polytheistic pantheons (like the Canaanite Yahweh and Moloch). The point about Zoroastrianism is that it is the first known religious tradition that is cleary binary with an omniscient, powerfull and aimable deity (very close to the contemporary Ambrahamaic concept of 'God' in more ways than one) on the good side and a very clear Great Adversary on evil side; the first is named 'Ahura Mazda' and the latter is named 'Angra Mainyu' (conceptually akin to the idea that most people have with the words like 'Satan' and 'evil'). Different foreign words, very similar conceptualizations.
Even the greater good that is, for instance in christianity and islam, thought to emanate from the divine one upstairs has a specific name: Amesha Spenta, a kind of holy force. Mr Peterson is an implicit yet very clear proponent of Amesha Spenta: clean your room once in a while and you're already a better person (basic level but very true: dust can be mildly toxic and a lot of people are therefore allergic to it).
Another nice thing about Ahura Mazda is that he is explicitly a deity associated with knowledge and wisdom, which makes you feel less bad about eating apples.

Some trace these Persian ideas futher back to the Vedic world with it's Veda-Asura contrast but that is not that clear cut from a both a general historical as well as a mythological point of view (plausibel to some extent though). I do recommend to read something about the Vedic myth about the Churning of the Ocean of Milk, interesting matter: what strange things happen if 'good' and 'evil' (reluctantly) team up ...

The analogy of marriage proves faith is evidence based. Do both love each other? There's your evidence. You don't need evidence for how long the marriage will last. That's not part of the decision process. Only know that there is love and there is evidence of the love. Then get married! Your faith in the marriage is based on the evidence of love!

I STRONGLY disagree with Jordan Peterson on his view of faith. Faith IS based on evidence. You do not decide to have faith before looking at the evidence, that's ridiculous. Even Jesus said to test him in case someone comes along and pretends to be him.

I GAIN faith that my GF will be a good wife by looking at the evidence of what I've learned about her so far. I GAIN faith in God's word by looking at the evidence of the patterns of things He's said before being true.

Faith is evidence based ! Your actions speak louder than words. You say you love God and you despise him and love money. If you would do the will of God and do one more thing for Jesus and follow him your action to do one more thing for Jesus with money and follow him would prove your words as truth. Yours actions to not give all your money to the poor and follow Jesus shows you don't have faith in God. you have faith in money.. It's evident by your action to love money and not despise it.
