Question: once you've uploaded your book, say you want to change your price at a later date, is there a way to edit your price or even cover if you need to reupload a cover ( just in case you win awards or best sellers icons you need to add later ) ?

I have received four boxes of books from Amazon KDP (softback and hardback novels in a series). The printing is fine, but each box was busted open, and the books were rubbed, scuffed and scratched, all because they sent them with no packaging or one sheet of paper inside. Consider the STUPIDITY. I have now had three written undertakings that it will not happen again. They recognize in writing, that if the packaging had been adequate the books would have arrived so that they could be used. Yet it happens time and again. I have had a promotion lined up three of the four times and had to cancel it because the books were not useable. Think of what that does to my writing credibility and income. I can only assume I am dealing with total meatheads or an AI plug-in. ie “I am sorry to hear about ( complaint ).” "We will do something about correcting the ( complaint ).” I realize that you must have found the lack of ( complaint ) distressing.” If the word ‘packaging’ is the keyword in your complaint, that is what gets plugged into the ( complaint ). I have gone to Draft2Digital for paperbacks now (they don’t print hardbacks as yet). The difference is chalk and cheese. D2D is BRILLIANT! Every delivery is pristine, and if you need to speak to a human you will get a real, direct answer within 24 hours. Goodbye Amazon KDP. You LIED to me. You cost me credibility. You cost me real income. You failed at the same simple task over and over and over again. KDP is incapable of learning.

Dale can i upload an ms word file directly as the manuscript for the e book or do i need to convert it into another format. You said doc x. Is that the same as ms word?

I really need a comparison of standard color vs. premium color. The difference on my 180 full color book is over $7.00 in royalties. Even at $29 per book, I would only make $3.95 in profit on premium color vs. $10.00 for standard printing. At $29 per book, I would LOSE money if I went with premium color and wanted expanded distribution. I need help in deciding. This is a fashion book so color saturation will matter.

Dale, first and foremost, great video! I had a question regarding your upload process for the cover. When you uploaded the cover for the eBook, your file was JUST the front cover, correct? And when you uploaded your cover for the paperback, your file was BOTH the front and back cover, correct? In other words, you had 2 different cover files, 1 for eBook that was just the front (because why would you need a back cover) and another one for the paperback that included a back cover. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I self-published my novel "Maya, the blindfolded" using KDP. Spent decent amount of money of marketing and advertising but it did not work. It seems new authors needs traditional publications to publish and market their books. KDP just does not work for new fiction writers.

My state issues business licenses based on the type of business. I can't seem to find any info online as to whether a KDP business is considered a wholesale business or a service. Does your state have the same requirements? How did you define your business when you got started?

I have a dumb question. I have what's called an illustrated novel, however, it's not a traditional illustrated novel. It's written like a regular book, but at the end of each chapter is one colored page in cells like a comic book page depicting the chapter you just read. Is my book still considered an illustrated novel even though there's only 12 colored illustrated pages within the book?
