Did this abiut a year ago.I also drop the clubhead straught down to start the down swing( after all it's called the down swing).
At 78 yrs old my balkstriking is better than ever,.I dont try to hit the ball, just swing through it.
My thought is all about swing, using my wrists and hands to get speed
Inside takeaway it looks like
ОтветитьSteve, read the comments and get rid of the porn links please.
ОтветитьWell done Steve 👏
ОтветитьI do the same thing. I bought all the Eureka courses in the early spring. Using this technique (but with the direct back takeaway), my ball striking is off the charts. I used the standard takeaway to begin initially but have adapted really for one reason. The straight takeaway makes it easier to hit fade/cut shots. With the standard Eureka takeaway, I couldn't buy a fade for any money. With the straight back takeaway, I find it easier get a fade shape when needed for dogleg right holes (even if it only a few yards). Thanks for the program and the content, Steve!
ОтветитьLike Matthew Wolfe but less exaggerated
ОтветитьBrilliant video Steve …..any chance you could get ball tracer on your videos feel this would be better visually for the watchers of your channel mate 👍🏻
ОтветитьTaking this to the course but will try both swings
ОтветитьI've been doing that for the last 10 years, but my variation started with the heel of the club addressing the ball, which forced me to come inside on the downswing.
ОтветитьOnly watched 2 of your video series, how the golf swing works and the Eureka golf swing and my swing has improved dramatically, longer, staighter and more accuracy, Mr Johnston you are a golfing genuis guru and im not changing a thing as im way too happy 😊 but thanks for the update as always looking to improve but at 57 and having played crap for years im over the moon now thanks to you, brilliant and thank you sir.
ОтветитьSomething like this certainly worked for Trevino. Nice variation but too much of a re-plane move for me. I’ll stick with Steve’s rotational, one-plane swing.
ОтветитьMate l like it but l need to adapt it. I’ve been using the Jim Venetos closed stance.. stack and tilt method creating a reasonable successful draw but still get stuck on rotation creating straight block right of target shots that don’t draw from time to time.. therefore affecting consistency.. As a 57 yr old Aussie bloke, I’m struggling to open my stance that much as you instruct and still keep my shoulders square…So I’m narrowing the open stance accordingly with the same open stance, Lea Trevino success.. plus l can now feel more comfortable with that open stance when l need to hit a fade instead of a draw by just a simple shoulder line adjustment when required rather than uncomfortable having to completely turn my old closed stance inside out.. thanks mate.. given my Irish inheritance.. l really like your dry but dedicated passion and yes l understand your accent to. Cheers
ОтветитьI tried the eureka swing a couple of months ago because of a damaged back and it has freed up my swing due to me having more room with my hips and front leg out of the way, and I just make far more consistent contact with my irons particularly - oh and no back pain! The reason for this comment is, I too struggled with the single plane take-away aspect of the eureka system, because of my back issues restricting my turning, and I’ve also modified the take-away in a somewhat similar fashion as you demonstrate here … I cock the wrists earlier and am possibly slightly more ‘handsy’ but it works great too. I’ve decided to devote this Australian summer of golf to giving eureka a fully comprehensive test, as initial experience is great. My only concern is a loss of distance with some clubs, but it may be solely due to me getting squarer contact, more height and more spin.
ОтветитьSo you swing In and Up?
ОтветитьI have fiddled with something very close to this before I found your channel. I do something a bit different with my setup and take away.
I would address it taking the club in my left hand as it would hang normally by my side. The clubface would appear insanely open, but actually square with the path of the top stick. Then put my right hand on, swing straight up and back through.
Not sure if I've explained it well enough.
The clubhead is well back of the ball at address.
Don’t listen to the Americans Steve!
