Techniques for Hard Sudoku

This is not a hard puzzle at all.

I wish you would explain what you do instead of just talking about other things.

Hope I am not asking something already answered in comments, but what software are you using for your puzzle? I haven't seen one with two points of notation and can see that makes a world of difference. I may have to abandon NYT and go back to paper puzzles!

With regard to uniqueness, I have come across puzzles where that is the only way to solve it.
However I avoid it if possible.

I have been doing sudoku for last 4-5 years, I have started loving it , my day is incomplete without daily dose of sudoku in morning newspaper, but I used to get stuck with very hard sudoku sometimes , today I have learned the technique , all thanks to you sir.

You are good for sure to have it solve while speaking but as a seasoned player myself i was expecting a level one or two more difficulty than this. Could you make some very advanced level techniques

That was a masterful lesson in how to make the difficult look easy, thank you. Is the technique you used two times equivalent to the XY wing technique? Either way it still needs much practice to spot these possibilities.

A Sudoku has only one solution by definition. So the uniqueness argument must be valid. I don't get why it shouldn't.

I would hardly call this particular example as being a "hard" sudoku

I love the meta strategy of uniqueness. I've never thought of that. I love situations where you can take outside, seemingly irrelevant information, and make informed decisions for strategy and tactics. I also really appreciate your attitude of pointing that out, and then showing how to solve the puzzle with its self contained logic. Beautiful video my friend.

The method is Just elementary.

This is not a hard sudoku puzzle.

С самого начала расставляются почти все единицы. Но нет, автор скачет по верхам, там одну тройку поставил, тут одну единицу, пятерочку, пару 79 и поплыл куда-то. Совершенно бессистемно, ставит то что бросается в глаза сходу и не утруждает себя внимательным и системным изучением подсказок. Такое бессистемное прыгание просто бесит моего внутреннего перфекциониста, не могу смотреть без ругательств. Если это попытка научить кого-то технике разгадывания судоку, то мне это кажется уроком того, как не надо делать. Возможно с таким подходом автор и отгадывает быстро, но выглядит это не эстетично и меня, например, - дико раздражает.
