You gotta feel bad for the troops Saddam put out in the desert front lines and just left there with no support or even communication in many cases. Everyone feared Saddam’s supposedly powerful army. Turned out to be just another glorified palace guard. Typical of Arabic armies. Many units didn’t even have officers present when they surrendered. Cowards.

I just can't help but think that while the whole war showcased brilliant and almost perfect planning, wasn't this an excessive use of forces just to destroy a military of a third world nation whose military is in debt, disorganized, poorly equipped, lacking in numbers, and significantly inferior compared to technological differences? Idk man, feels like a waste of tax money. A war won in 6 days and 4 days is though impressive, just made the situation worse for Iraq and cost about $70 billion is just not.....

This whole initial stage of the war can really just be summed up as:
Iraq: sends up single mirage fighter
Coalition forces: deploy 15 fighters equipped with automated hyper-lethal mega missiles

Some may think sending the full might of the american ground forces with 6 carrier battle groups along with a multinational coalition is overkill, I think that's about how you say FAFO.

the capacity to organize an effective and massive enough first strike is definitely the direction war is heading, and thats a really bleak ultraviolent future

It is very interesting that the US military only directly attacks countries that do not have real military power. Iraq procured its military equipment from the Soviet Union, France, Germany, and the United States, and did not have the ability to manufacture and engineer a single screw. Even today, American bombs kill Palestinians who are unable to defend themselves. The United States of Cowards is the right name!

It is insane to think that 2 battleships that provided artillery support for armymen during ww2 were using tomahawk cruise missiles to open operation dessert storm in 1991.

75 Coalition aircraft lost out of over 2,000 participating against one of the most dangerous air defense zones in the world… absolutely insane. The late Cold War American and allied militaries were absolutely insane.
