2025 Cupra Terramar Hybrid Revealed!

Cupra is getting ready to replace the Ateca with the brand-new Terramar, which will be built on the 2025 Audi Q3's MQB Evo platform. The Gyor manufacturing complex in Hungary, which manufactured 1,660,425 drive units and 176,493 vehicles last year, will construct the Spanish crossover. The Audi-developed 5.2L FSI V10, a free-breathing screamer that will be phased out later this year along with the Lamborghini Huracan, is also manufactured in the Hungarian site. The much anticipated LB63x, its twin-turbo V8 plug-in hybrid successor, is a sight to behold.
The Ateca-replacing Terramar is the last internal combustion vehicle from the Cupra brand, and it was recently observed testing in Germany.
There are two plug-in hybrid possibilities for the 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan, which is built on the MQB Evo. The Volkswagen brand refers to these plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) as eHybrids. They can produce 204 or 272 metric horsepower, or 201 or 268 mechanical ponies.
The maximum electric range is 120 miles, or 75 kilometers. Cupra stated two years ago that the whole length of the Terramar is roughly 4.5 meters. Given that the Tiguan's official dimensions in Europe are 4,551 millimeters, or 179.2 inches, the Terramar PHEV ought to have an electric range that is rather similar to the previously indicated 120 kilometers. While sharing a similar footprint with the Tiguan and the upcoming Q3, the Terramar's external appearance is entirely Cupra.
It will be difficult to confuse this crossover for the more subdued Tiguan and luxury-focused Q3, thanks to features like the full-width light bar out back and the headlights' distinctive three-triangle lighting signature. While the Tayron, which is built on the Tiguan, has three rows of seating, the Cupra only has five seats. In addition to the well-reviewed 2.0 TDI for individuals who like internal combustion engines over mild and plug-in hybrids, front- and all-wheel-drive models are also planned.
Similar to the Tiguan, the Terramar will only have dual clutch capability. The 1.5 TSI eHybrid is linked to a six-speed transmission, while the 2.0 TDI and 1.5 eTSI-equipped Tiguan boasts a seven-speed transmission. You must park your vehicle as near to the charging station as you can because the charging port door is situated on the front left fender.
The Terramar, which is shorter than the Volkswagen ID.4- and ID.5-twinned Tavascan, will not be sold domestically.
